  • Summary: Concluding the events set into motion by Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction, Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time at long last answers some of the franchise fans' largest questions. After discovering that Clank's disappearance was engineered by Dr. Nefarious, Ratchet races to rescue his best friend. Unfortunately, he discovers that Clank's capture is just the beginning of Nefarious's latest diabolical plot. In this follow-up to the best-selling series, Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time puts players into the role of both Ratchet and Clank as they attempt to reunite and save the universe. Along the way, both finally uncover the hidden truth behind their origins, and discover their ultimate destinies. As the duo come closer to reuniting, they have to ask themselves the biggest question of all: Do Ratchet and Clank's destinies lie with each other? Or is it finally time for the universe's greatest duo to separate for good? Players use new gadgets such as Ratchet’s Hoverboots to explore levels and can take off in Ratchet’s ship to discover nearby moons and planets. Clank use new abilities to manipulate time to try and stop Dr. Nefarious. [Sony] Expand

If this is truly the last Ratchet and Clank release then rest assured that the series goes out with a bang. It’s one of the games of the year and an outstanding exclusive for the Playstation 3.
  2. Another excellent game that delivers on all fronts.
  3. It's a monumental space adventure you shouldn't miss, whether you're a longtime fan or a newcomer. Insomniac wraps up the duo's space saga in style. We just hope to see more of them in the future. We can't get enough of these guys.
  4. If A Crack in Time is indeed the final Ratchet & Clank game, then the series has been finished the right way - with a solid game that doesn't stray from what fans love while giving them plenty of service in the process. And in this way, it's also guilty of playing it a bit safe, but when expectations are that high, and are met, it's a sure sign of a quality game.
  5. Altogether, Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack in Time is easily the best of the three Ratchet and Clank entries on the PS3, and it does a great job of tying up any loose ends established by the Future trilogy.

It looks stunning, plays nicely and has enough gadgets and hardware to keep Ratchet and Clank, together or on their own, hitting those platforms for a while yet.
  7. 70
Ratchet and Clank might be living on borrowed time, but between the gags and the glitz we’re happy to forgo collecting a little longer.

One of the best games you can play. Everything about this series screams the word "fun" but this one in particular was hands down the best experience of them all so far! I love the clank time puzzles, they are easy at first but take quite a bit of thinking towards the end. I adore all the characters in this franchise and it is awesome when you see people from previous games return or make cameo's. Nice blend of action, comedy, and fun! Collapse

One of the best games money can buy. The arsenal of weapons is better than expected, the characters are real characters and.. Quark is definitely being..Quark. Great graphics, great gameplay, better space combat and free real roaming-- everything you expected and maybe more. The ending was pleasing.. but so sad to see the series end. Long live Ratchet and Clank! Expand

I am a big fan of the Ratchet & Clank games and it may seem I'm giving it a 10 just because I'm a 'fanboy' to the series but I really wouldn't give it 10 if I didn't think it deserved it. A Crack in Time is exactly what I expect from R&C and the absence of Clank throughout the game makes it so much different from the previous games as in the previous games you had lost him for a limited period. The hoverboots make up for his dissapearance however and they are extremely fun. Must buy for any R&C fan. Expand

This was a really great game. one thing i liked was the space exploration, this is a great addition to the game, and made it seem more alive somehow. I hope they add it to another ratchet and clank game in the future. the graphics are even better than they were in Tools of Destruction, you also get the hoverboots which are a better version of the charge boots. It also has an amazing story that will keep you hooked. but as you're reading this and looking at the metacritic score "87" you might be scratching you head (Ign did not give it a perfect score because it was "more of the same" really? more of the same? is call of duty not more of the same? seriously). well take my advice and mine only ignore it because those reviewers don't know JACK. That score should be at least a "96" because this game is awsome! Expand

A Crack in Time stands to be one of the greatest Ratchet & Clank adventures to date, taking everything that made Tools of Destruction great and expanding on it. The addition of explorable space, as well as reinforcing the platformer elements with time puzzles and additional collectables make this title a fine addition to glowing franchise, and one of the most highly recommended titles to play in the series. I found the games annoying and tedious to play. I just didn't find myself having a good time with this game and I must say this was more of a chore than an experience. I know many people had enjoyed this but for me I didn't like it. Expand
