  1. Resident Evil fans will remember the series first venture onto the ps3 and for most it was a disappointing transition, they took out most of the survival horror elements that made the original games instant classics and replaced them with an action/adventure without any zombies what so ever, but some did enjoy it and i was one of them, it wasn’t anything special nor was it a classic like the originals but it had its own merits, and so with the release of the Playstation move, Capcom decided to re-release with move support and all the DLC. So reading this you must be thinking has the addiction of the move improved the overall experience? The answer to that question is a definitive yes. Capcom haven’t made any story, graphical or Level improvements to the game that would be silly, but by making the Move like a gun by pointing and firing using the trigger button is so much more satisfying than using the duelshock controller. Aiming is relatively easy, pointing in the direction you desire will in most cases put the moves green crosshair in that area, the only thing i found annoying about aiming using the move was that unless you were near the middle of the playstation eye the crosshair would flip out and go all over the screen. Moving Chris or Sheva is also easy using the nav controller’s analogue stick and if you want to knife your enemies to death a swift thrust with the move controller is mimicked on screen. They’ve also changed when one of those Majini’s get their grubby little hands on you, instead of repeatedly poking a button, shaking the move controller left to right gets you free and prepare for the inevitable arm ache after woods. The lower down enemies react strangely tending to run toward you then they stop when there within ten yards of you which i always found strange, but hey who am i to question the way a Majini’s mind works. Then there the slightly bigger guys the Chainsaw Majini and the Majini Executioner which move around at a nice brisk pace on easy these guys are a cake walk but get onto veteran or professional and suddenly they become deadly one swing from either axe or chainsaw and you’re a gonna. For a more challenging enemy they’ve put a new class of a fan favourite the Licker notoriously difficult to kill, but not without it’s weaknesses. Lastly as always, the Boss fights and there a lot of them which for me were in general hit and miss some where incredibly monotonous and boring and others where well made strategically fun challenging fights but sadly the monotonous outweigh the fun it’s not so much the enemies themselves but the way the Capcom have gone about it, most are so predictable, they attack in certain patterns or for example there happens to be a flamethrower on the wall, O...how convenient. Never the less the important fights like Wesker and such are the enjoyable ones, which saves the boss fights from being a bit of a mess. The story is easily the strongest part of the game and the star of the show continuing Chris’s effort to rid the world of Umbrella and the vile zombies, it moves at a fairly slowish pace for the first few level then when Chris learns certain things he decides to get his arse in gear and things start to speed up but unfortunately it dips slightly in the middle but that’s due to a gameplay problem and not story related but ends with a great finale to the Wesker/Chris Saga. The relationship between Chris and Sheva at first is one of slight uncertainty and discomfort and Chris clearly doesn’t fully trust his new partner which hinders his decision at the start but as the story builds you can see a level of trust grow which pays off in the end for Chris. A lot of the main cast has a familiar face Wesker, Chris and Jill so we all know about these friendly or not so friendly faces, Wesker is his usual arrogant self. The new addition to the cast Ricardo Irving is a bit a winey, crazed sell out clichéd kind of character and it’s fairly obvious from the beginning what his fate will be. Then there’s Excella Gionne who is a bit of weird one in my eyes, she seems as if she’s trying to manipulate Wesker yet at the same time stay loyal to him, she is also the African CEO of the mysterious Tricell Company. Both characters aren’t exactly memorable resident evil characters nor are they completely terrible but there both missing a unique feature or look that would separate them from other less important characters over the series. The move edition is a big improvement on fun factor aiming with the move controller is a blast and moving is just as easy as using the duelshock. There is really no reason if you have a move to not use it. Graphically wise it’s fairly solid with just a few niggles and story wise it’s at its best, it may not be the experience Resident Evil fans were after with lack of real zombies and still no fixed camera but as far as the game stands on itself it’s pretty impressive. 2. A lot of people scorn this title because it kind of strayed away from the creepy horror factor. But who wants to play 10 games in a series that are pretty much identical? The gameplay is smooth and the graphics are amazing. The texture to dirty brick walls, muddy water, wooden floors, and you can even see the fabric of the costumes. I have beat this game 5 times and. I still have a few more things to do before I achieve my Platinum. And I haven't even mentioned how addictive The Mercenaries can be. Versus mode may not be for everybody but it just adds to the replayability factor. The game keeps you working feverishly to unlock that next awesome item or character. The Lost in Nightmares and Desperate Escape are really fun to explore. The mansion in HD? Nice.....I love this game. Expand

  3. This was my first current gen console game and it was also the reason i bought a ps3. i had previously played RE4 and it became my favorite game for the ps2 so i guess i had high expectations for this one. and even though it's not as good as RE4 it is undeniably more fun and exciting to be able to play with a friend. It is true this game aint scary and i wish it was, but i think most of it is due to the bright enviroments and the fact you're no longer playing alone, the graphics in this game are really good and the extra content makes for a more diverse experience, but not all the extra content is great, Lost in Nightmares is the only content u shouldn't miss because it feels like a return to the scary roots of RE1 and RE2 but it's really short, Desparate Escape is ok but the best thing about it is that u get to play as the super hot Jill Valentine, then there's the versus and the mercenaries as well as new costumes. at the end this is the best version of the game, even if u don't like the versus and mercenaries u won't be sorry u spend a little extra for the 2 extra chapters and for being able to dress Sheva like a sluty version of Little Red Riding Hood Expand
