  • Summary: The biohazard threat has not ended: Just when it seemed that the menace of Resident Evil had been destroyed, along comes a new terror to send shivers down players' spines. Chris Redfield, returning Resident Evil hero, has followed the path of the evil literally around the globe. After joining a new organization, Chris heads to Africa where the latest bioterrorism threat is literally transforming the people and animals of the city into mindless, maddened creatures. He is joined by a new partner, Sheva Alomar, who lends her strength, intelligence and sharp-shooting skills to the mission. In order to survive, Chris and Sheva must work together to take on the challenges of discovering the truth behind this evil plot. Utilizing a revolutionary new 2-player co-op mode of gameplay, players assume control of either Chris or Sheva and experience Resident Evil in new ways. In Resident Evil 5, Capcom has players fearing the daylight as much as they have feared shadow in previous games. [Capcom] Expand

The co-op implementation is great and the extra unlockable provides more than enough incentive to play the game through multiple times. If the controls don't bother you, anybody can have a great time playing through this adventure.
  2. If you have a friend to play along with, then that's obviously the way to go, but don't let the thought of playing with the AI deter you from picking this up. It's a great game, and well worth your time.
  3. Despite its outdated control scheme, its ambiguity of being either survival game or action thriller, and the abandonment of all things scary, Resident Evil 4's true sequel is a completely satisfying experience.
  4. Resident Evil 5 is “only” an amazing game, a label that 90% of the third person shooters would want for themselves. The cooperative mode is just sensational and the story mode is filled with non-stop action. The huge amount of contents will make you forget the lack of any kind of innovation in its concept.
  5. Resident Evil 5 is an incredibly satisfying, non-stop action romp from start to finish. An essential purchase for fans and newcomers alike.
  6. Overall, Versus is a good step in the right direction for a Resident Evil deathmatch-type mode.
  7. Disappointing. Netcode is great, and graphics won’t be downgraded, but for the amount of fun that these modes deliver, they should’ve been part of the menus since day one. If you’re a die-hard fan, think twice. If you’re not, turn the page.

Resident Evil 5 is the perfect survival horror, many people reading this won't think it is scary. I think it is, sometimes. I got attacked with my friend with a chainsaw, and we both sat there screaming. It was the funniest thing ever. Graphics are amazing. And Sheva is the perfect partner. Also towards TYLER H, a loser. The story is epic, it follows on from REmake, and completely misses out outbreak and 4, mainly cos their stories were crap. The story had enough twists, and introduced Jill Valentine again, which was my favourite moment in a videogame EVER. Buy this, or your console will throw itself out your window in disgust. Expand

Starting the series with RE5, I can easily say I am very impressed. The only reason not to get this would be if you hate shooters. True, it's not as scary as it's previous entries but it has amazing replay value. All of the DLC is absolutely worth it. Let's break it down:

    Graphics:9/10
You really can't say anything bad about the graphics. Maybe not flawless, but excellent. The only disappointment that I have was that the console versions can only produce limited amount of enemies at a time, but technology will advance, so I'm not too upset.

    Gameplay:9/10
The gameplay is amazing and is addictive. Everything you could want from a game like this. Except you can't run and gun...I don't really care if you can or not but that's up to you. And, no, of course it's not like old style Resident Evil. It is more of a TPS now mixed with the horror element.

    Sound:7/10
Voices sound cheesy. Real cheesy. But other than that the sound is great.

    Replay Value:10/10
Absolutely addicting! You will be drawn into this game from the start and there are a variety of difficulty levels that will keep you playing the story mode. The mini game Mercenaries is the best. Mercenaries Reunion is not nearly as good as Mercenaries but still loads of fun. Versus is the competitive side of RE5 and , in my opinion, is almost as fun as Mercenaries. Lastly, there are the DLC stories that will keep you busy for at least another ten hours. Overall, the game is one of the best games I have ever played. It's midnight and I am tired so my review is not as detailed as it should be but take my word for it and buy it/

This games graphics was very good, the setting of the game was awesome also the bosses were good, The fact that you cant run and shoot simultaneously sucked, the ending could have been better , co-op was fun, there should have also been more variety of gameplay, the characters were cool. Overall a game worth playing and owning.8.5/10 Expand

This game is brilliant. I spent most of my summer holidays playing co-op in the story. There is so much to do and you barely ever get bored. Howver i hate the fact that you cant aim and move at the same time. I feel that the online modes aswell are utterly hopeless i find it easy to kill other zombies, but against other players. The controls are not responceive enough, and in the single player it can feel quite chlaustrophobic. However its so much fun running around killing zombies with infinate ammo guns. Expand

I wish i could give the game more credits but this game is more arcade and action based then the series original were.. i hoped it to be more horror minded and scary moments then action minded, for me the series are becomming less and less horror and more and more action based and for me thats a no go. Its a good game if you want action instead of real horror and yes the graphics are good but for me in this kind of game graphics are not the most impoirtant, for me i hope they will go back to the roots of the game in the next versions Expand

i did not like this game at all you cant move while attacking which leaves you open to attack every time you want to kill something and when you look around the camera is too sensitive and this can not be changed as well everything you do in this game feels unnatural and clunky i played the first chapter and gave up because of the bad gameplay Expand
