  1. The experience is well worth its $170 asking price (for a guitar/drum/mic/game bundle, which is the only way you’ll be able to buy Rock Band for months anyway) and makes for one of the most rewarding co-op events you could ask for. This is the perfectly polished, logical extension of what Guitar Hero started and where the music genre needed to go. It just rocks.
  2. Hardware issues are annoying, yes, but with a killer single player mode, great online multiplayer and the promise of dozens of individual tracks and complete albums, the game more than pays for itself out of the box.

Rock Band truly raises the bar for the genre, and with continually updated downloadable content it's no one night stand.
  4. For the bundle price of 170 dollars you do get plenty of bang for your buck and I can't give Harmonix credit enough for doing what was once only hopeful dream.
  5. An absolute rock monster. [Jan 2008, p.94]
  6. Rock Band has one thing going for it: the necessity to having friends to play and the willingness to work together. It may not be enough for everyone to drop 170 bucks on the game and equipment, but I can say if you even remotely have thought about this game, it is worth it.
  7. Even though it took a year longer for Rock Band to reach Europe, this music game manages to make up for lost time in only a few minutes. With its hefty instruments and a strong setting, this game really manages to capture the rock image setting. There are a few nagging problems, such as having to unlock all songs manually and locking the roles for the band members, together with the fact that the sequel is just around the corner, but as a whole, Rock Band is one of the most impressive experiences around.

I can't believe how well this game is updated with DLC Content, I find myself buying awesome new songs atleast once a month. While I check the store, i compare the songs available on Rock Band to those on Guitar Hero, and laugh at the no-name bands they throw out there, expecting people to buy them. Rock Band itself is great, except the last few songs feel like they are 15 minutes long each, and the last song set of the game is a concert, consisting of maybe 7 of these songs, all of which are EXTREMELY LONG. Luckily though, Quick Play allows the game to exceed expectations and be the greatest peripheral instrument game on the market. Expand

Fantastic for all ages! The whole family loves this game. I only wish I had one more guitar for the bass. Otherwise it's the most fun I've had on the PS3 yet. Expand

This is the best game I have ever played in...well 20 years. I've been gaming for 20 years now (Atari, Intellivision, Nintendo...PC) that's hard to believe. Finally, I will become a drummer a childhood dream that never came to light until now! Expand

This game CRUSHES Guitar Hero in every aspect. Though the guitar parts are easy for a guitar hero veteran, the drums and vocals can keep you challenged. For those talking about graphics, I don't think they should be a big deal in a game like this -- but that being said, the graphics are very good. If you watch closely, the drummers actually hit the right drums, the guitar players play the right strings, and most amazingly of all, the singer's lips are in synch with the words. The downloadable songs are awesome, and come at a decent price tag (about $2.00 each song). Most importantly, the mutliplayer in this game is incredible. You and your friends can create a band and tour the world -- a very fun experience. My girlfriend, her brother and I played this game for two days straight and we could not get enough. Well worth the price tag. Expand

This game is excellent for family and friend entertainment. I hope in the near future they add kid songs like Jonas Brothers, Hannah Montana etc. So the kids can get in on the singing as well. Expand

Graphics, sound, and polish are great. MIssion structure, controls, content, etc. are all equally good as well. If you like music games, give it a shot. Collapse

Game seems to be good but there is one glaring flaw. The SIXAXIS controller cannot be used to play the instruments. It is common notion that there will be people going to play it using SIXAXIS. And they even released a disc-only package. But that's the point of releasing that if it needs instruments? They should have warned in their website that SIXAXIS play is not possible. Expand
