Saints Row IV is a must have title, it throws away the rule book and just wants you to have a great time. The Next Generation is upon us, but you might miss it as you get lost in the virtual world of a simulated Steelport with no rules to hold you back.

Saints Row IV is a video game unlike any you've played before with a rich story, sharp sense of humor and unique mechanics. It's only held back by a lack of variety and the need for a bit more polish.

An empowering, open game, with plenty for everyone to love, and perhaps most importantly, it’s just a ridiculous amount of fun. Unfortunately a number of small bugs and a short campaign length put the brakes on this fun experience a lot sooner than I would have liked.

Supplementing the streets with glowing collectibles and earning the use of a weaponized dildo (yes, you read that right) can only take you so far before one begins to wonder why Bruce Campbell wasn’t hired to voice the main character.

Just browsing the vast selection of characters other players have uploaded is at least an hour or two of good entertainment.

If you believe that the world of Saints Row has been missing things like telekinesis, giant mechs, and cartoonish megalomaniacs, wait until this year’s Christmas sales. The discounted price will better reflect the cheap nature of this «sequel».

I haven't played any of the previous SR titles, and it's been a while since I laugh so loud while playing a game.
The gameplay is fun, the tr
ials and missions are incredibly fresh with a lot of twists (the 2D beat'em up minigame, omg!) and the story and dialogues are just hilarious.
I don't know if they forgot about the previous values of the franchise, but just considering the game, I will totally recommend it.

Saints Row IV: Insane, over the top and incredibly fun. A strangely great story with excellent humor, with characters that you care about. References to Mass Effect, Streets of Rage and Metal Gear Solid just make the game even better. The 2 things that keep it from being perfect are: A whole lot of technical difficulties including game crashing and game breaking glitches and how short the game is, Saints Row: The Third was a really long game but Saints Row IV only has 37 main missions with side quests from all the characters. Overall a really fun and entertaining game. 9/10. Expand

Don't believe the low reviewers, most are trolling so that every game they do not like falls into the depths of hell.
But trust me when I say
this game is a very good seven, it's definitely not much higher but isn't bad at all. The reason I can't give it higher is because they honestly copy and pasted a lot of stuff from Saints Row 3 without changing anything about it, hell the casino is the exactly same.
It's a fun coop experience, i can't judge the single player experience but i assume it's about the same.
    Definitely worth checking out though!
PS. do not get this if you expect a metal music station, there isn't one.. heck the stations suck this time around as well.

This is, simply put, a FUN game.
It's not a good game, it's not a bad game. It's just fun.
I'm not a huge Saints Row fan because it was alwa
ys a GTA clone in my opinion. But Saints Row 4 actually offers something unique enough to make it original for once.

    Pros:
-Massive game with tons and tons of content, ranging from side missions to challenges to story missions.
-Story is actually good, funny and offers enough content to keep you on your toes till the finale.
-The guns. Just the variety is mind blowing.
-There are enough powers to make it stand out as one of the best super hero games out there. Yes, even better than InFamous and that terrible Protoype.
    -The game is actually funny.

    Cons:
-Haf way through the game, everything becomes the same. Go here, disable these 3 things and run away. Go there, press these three things and run away. Go that way, fight these 3 waves of enemies and run away. It is terribly boring and sometimes i found myself turning it off because of pure rage.
-The game is literally broken. I found myself restarting a save file almost EVERY SINGLE MISSION because the character would get stuck in a wall or he would stop moving or the gun would stop firing etc... Sometimes it even froze and i was forced to restart my PS3.
-The graphics are terrible and unforgivable. This is 2013 for God's sake, can't we expect good graphics for once?
-There is absolutely no enemy variety. The Zins all look the same. You'd be lucky if you ran into a Zin boss every now and then.

    Verdict:
-Mediocre game. Really fun for the first 5 or so hours, but eventually it becomes repetetive. If you can ignore the glitches, lag and crashes, and if you don't mind repetetive missions, then by all means, buy it. Otherwise either rent it or forget about it.

When I started this game, I was laughing. Laughing at the funny gags, the over the top story and the funny game play elements that have been introduced into this Saints Row. I was enjoying myself.
But gradually, the laughter stopped. I managed to scrape my way through about 6 of the main campaign missions. Once I looked past the humor, I began to see the true nature of this game. It's a mess, a mess that is uncomfortable to play. And gradually becomes more uncomfortable as you go. For example, upgrading your jump ability to max makes it cumbersome to jump up small buildings because a slight tap will send you way up into the sky. This part in particular isn't a deal breaker, but little things like this coupled with an inconsistent and borderline unplayable frame rate combine to make a game that looks like fun to play, but really isn't. I recommend avoiding this game on the PS3, if you must get it, the PC version is apparently a lot better.
