  1. Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions is easily one of my top 5 games of 2010…so far. The level of energy and excitement and the wonder of what could possible come next kept me playing for hours on end.
  2. What is great about the game and the story line especially is that there are awesome villains and none of them seem like a throw away add on to the game. The levels leading up to boss battles are well designed, giving Spider-Man the chance to use his unique abilities. Story line writer Dan Slott really brings a story that is perhaps one of the best in any Spider-Man game yet.

It might have taken four Spider-Men to do it, but overall Shattered Dimensions is the web-slinging superhero's best game yet.

There are some control and camera problems that occasionally pop up, but they don't spoil the overall experience. The levels are huge and diverse, the boss encounters are imaginative and larger-than-life, and the presentation is solid. I had a blast and don't see a reason why anyone would want to miss it.
  5. Even if you're not a huge comic book or Spider-Man fan, you could do a hell of a lot worse than to grab Shattered Dimensions and play through it before the "real" fall season of game releases starts.

The straight-to-the-point levels and the four different dimensions bring a whole new level of gameplay to the Spider-Man franchise that is a breath of fresh air that it needed.
  7. If you just enjoy good adventure games with a heavy dose of action, then be sure to give Shattered Dimensions a look.
  8. The lack of multiplayer will hurt it with some people, but the sheer number of upgrades and collectables should keep gamers coming back for awhile. Besides that, it's a whole lot of fun.
  9. Never a game has been closer in capturing Spider-Man essence, and that is a remarkable feat.
  10. Spider-Man Shattered Dimensions is fun. Really fun. It's a modern game that feels like it has the soul of a classic.
  11. Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions lands just shy of being the full package, but it delivers a non-stop action ride with something new around every corner. Though its story leaves something to be desired, it's one of the best Spider-Man titles in recent memory, if not the best Spider-Man title to date.
  12. Being their "first true big project", Beenox successfully pulled off what seemed to be an impossible task for many of us within the game industry. With Shattered Dimensions, Beenox stays true to the colourful and adventuring character of Spider-Man and propels him back into the spotlight.
  13. But every level is really well done, the combat mechanic is loaded with potential and is almost endlessly entertaining, the variety and diversity keep your enjoyment high, and the voiceovers, characters, and patented Spidey flair are all big bonuses. The positives definitely outweigh the negatives and with a touch more polish, this could've been an elite title.

There has been a lot Spider-Man games and this is finally one of the best games. The four different Spider-Mens are cool, the different graphical style is great and the gameplay is pretty good. Sometimes the game is a bit repetitive, but besides that this is good title!

Your enjoyment of Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions will depend on how much you agree with Bobby Kotick's assessment of the previous entries in the series. If you truly believe they sucked, skip Shattered Dimensions as it's more of the same (just without the open world New York). But if you enjoyed them, you'll want to give the game a shot as it's another entertaining Spider-Adventure that's more linear than recent games in the series, but still a lot of fun.
  16. Shattered Dimensions is a good time from start to finish. Fans of Spiderman will not be disappointed with its four universes and great action and pace.
  17. Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions is not exactly a sort of compilation where you can find 4 games in 1, but it's a long and entertaining product that every fan of Spidey should try.
  18. Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions is one wild and webbed ride through four different dimensions. Each version of Spider-Man is unique, and their different levels help propel an otherwise lacklustre story.

Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions is definitely a lot better then the previous Spider-Man games. However some more innovation would have been nice.
  20. Overall, this is hands-down one of the best Spider-Man games ever released.

Some of the levels and boss battles are phenomenal. Beenox took a lot of chances with this game, most of which paid off in something unique and refreshing. Some old issues (bad camera, repetitive combat) still haven't been completely solved, but the good far outweighs the bad.

Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions is a fun game and enjoyable for anyone who is a fan of the comic book or game series.
  23. Shattered Dimension might not be the best Spider-Man experience of all time, but it surely is one of the better games in the series.
  24. There's bound to be better action games out there, but this one is the best game featuring the Spider-Man franchise. A bit repetitive, but nevertheless a solid experience without major flaws.

Shattered Dimension was an interesting experiment, but on the whole I'd have rather just played Spider-Man Noir.
  27. Vibrant visuals and agile action help Shattered Dimensions capture the excitement and appeal of your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man.
  28. The plot is bland and often corny, but the gameplay is mostly solid and enjoyable.
  29. Spider-man: Shattered Dimensions is an enjoyable action game. The gameplay is solid and splitting the adventure in four different realities works pretty well. Unfortunately there are some bugs and the virtual camera has some issues.
  30. Beenox deserves a lot of praise for making great use of a license turning this into the best Spider-Man game since Spider-Man 2, however a few nagging technical issues keep it from getting beyond the status of "just" a great Spider-Man game.

The change in combat options is a welcome addition, I just wish that the story had delivered on the comic legacy of one of Marvel's more enduring heroes.
  32. Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions is easily the best Spidey game since the Spider-Man 2 game from '04.
  33. Shattered Dimension is an old style action/adventure, solid and -most of all- varied. Too bad that a splendid level design meets a clumsy engine. Some camera issues and bad collision spoils a pleasant experience.

For the better part of the last decade, Spidey games have all been sandbox games with bland graphics and repetitive missions. Those games made it look like there was a violent crime in New York City every 5 seconds on every 5 blocks, and just didn't engage me at all. Shattered Dimensions removes that problem by having definitive, well-structured, visually appealing LEVELS. Each level has a boss, and each dimension has four levels. They are all fun and unique in their own right, and the voice acting is superb. As a Spider-Man fan, no game has ever hit the spot quite like this one. It was an awesome experience and fun I'd love to experience more of in the future. Full Review »

It's nice to have the 4 different spider-man to play as, but the linear set-up of the game really takes away from how fun it should be. Also,It's nice to have the 4 different spider-man to play as, but the linear set-up of the game really takes away from how fun it should be. Also, repeatedly having to fight the same boss in each level gets annoying. Spider-man should ALWAYS have somewhat of an open world and freedom. Believe it or not, the Movie based spiderman games are much better, even Web of Shadows. Full Review »

ThisAs i was going into this game, i imagined myself swinging around a vast city with the different spider mans. I was very much mistaken. This game was nothing anyone wanted it to be. Spiderman is meant to give freedom for the player, not confine them to linear corridors. The combat was very identical to previous games i have played, except for the fact that their actually good. One of the main things that bugged me about the combat was that the web powers were mostly left out. A spider without webs? Bad move developers Full Review »
