    Star Raiders is one of the PlayStation Network games that you just don't buy. Almost everything within the game is repetitive, boring and not interesting. Most of the gameplay parts just don't work and there isn't even one minute that makes it fun to play. Avoid this game.

    Star Raiders is doggerel: derivative, insubstantial tripe that fails to entertain on any level while simultaneously tarnishing the legacy of a classic Atari 800 game. I can't remember the last time I have played something so objectively bad, and Atari should be ashamed that they are actually receiving money for this.

    Well this Star Raiders is not a good remake but IS NOT a bad game.
    THE BAD :
    [Ergonomics]. It's not easy to end a mission. (1)you must push
    select, (2)find the galactic map with R1/L1, and (3)find the new option which appears at the bottom of the screen. Wouah, not very intuitive isn't it But when you know it...
    [Selection Screens (Map, equipment, statistics...)]. Not easy (again) to use a double navigation. R1/L1 for principal menu and "arrows" for secondary menu. But you just need a little practice...
    [Videos scenes between primary missions]. It's only drawings that move...and some drawings are very, VERY Ugly... But, euh, well it's not the core of the game...
    [Others]. Nobody says that only primary missions are important for the score (1A, 2A, 3A,...) all the other are useful only to have credits. Sometime, you really don't kown where are these bloody containers or exit You are forced to search every inch of this huuuuuge cavern. Only ten primary mission, and thirty in whole... and when you finish game, you can't start again a choosen mission argh, for me this is the only very bad aspect (Boooh You are not launch by an capital starship and you don't have to landing (it's a or a finally ?)
    THE GOOD :
    Well, fortunately fights and graphics in mission are good.
    Manoeuvrability is good and you have a great precision. It's the only game on ps3 where you can be an pilot in space as in StarWars, Galactica or Macross(Robotech). I don't find an other game, tell me if you have some name !
    I found the excitment i had when i played (long years ago) at Elite on C64 or Tie Fighter on PC.
    You have three forms SpaceShip for dogfight, and you can switch (in the same mission) with a GerWalk form (or Guardian in Robotech) or a Turret form (a static postion). You can upgrade your ship (but i never find how to change my starship's coque), for munitions you have a satellite to refit, and if you explose you'll be resurected in 5-10 seconds.
    And if you waste too much time in an mission you can redo it immediatly.
    DIFFICULTIES :
    [Commands]. You don't have the SAME commands when you switch forms This need some training. Sometimes it's VERY to switch because you don't activate the good form and you scratch on an rock face. Find the good weapons, can became a real difficulty. For instance To neutralize a capitalShip you need the heavy weapon of the turret but to clean the space arround the capitalShip you need to fight with the light weapon of the spaceship form....
    [Scores in hall of fame]. Some missions are done by Flash itself And i don't understand HOW it can be possible !
    Missions are repetitive There are lot of mission with only Dogfight and some to destroy capitalship, go inside asteroids, find weapons in an artificial satellite, erase a starbase... Well, you are a pilot, you want -above all- have dogfights, no ?
    For a PSN game, i think it's a good game.
    In resume 6/10 because Cheap, pleasure to pilot, but with a weird ergonomic, some difficulties and no possibilities to redo missions done.
