  • Summary: The Eye of Judgment presents a new style of gameplay where the player brings characters/monsters of fantasy trading cards to life for battle in 3D. Through use of a 3' x 3' board and trading cards - each encrypted with "cybercode", players conquer the field by selecting a card and placing the "cybercode" in front of the next generation camera for their respective character to come to life and battle. Each character has various skillsets, which will determine the outcome of the battle. Players take turns to place cards as they jostle for control of the board; the winner is the first player to capture five of the nine squares. The Eye of Judgment presents the player with more than 30 cards, as well as unique online and offline gameplay. [SCEJ] Expand

  1. Thoroughly engaging. [Nov 2007]
  2. Makes use of the pretty interesting technology from the PS Eye. Although it’s essentially a multiplayer experience, it stands out as the most different game in PS3 Xmas catalogue. [Nov 2007]
  3. The terrible music and pointless battle animation do nothing to help out what is already a well balanced card game.
  4. The virtual interface does little to help players and, if anything, slows the game down as you wait for it to catch up with things that are already evident to players – such as victory, failure and boredom. [Dec 2007, p.89]

  1. This game had me entranced from the moment I heard about it all of those years ago. I'd have to say that this game reminds me of chess and poker all rolled into one delightful package. I bought all three expansions of this game and nearly all of the cards. The cards by the way are beautiful and a collector's dream. I have recently even began playing this game again in 2011 and 2012, but was so angry and disappointed that the servers were turned off. This game never reached its full potential due to the nature of many gamers today that want instant gratification instead of learning, strategy and forethought. I would have supported this game for ever. Instead it now has been relegated to playing at home with buddies that cannot possibly beat me or the AI with no banter. I really wished that this game was made into more of an epic story with plots, twists, amazing music and beautifully rendered cut scenes. But I still give this game a 10 and would give it a higher rating if I could. I love originality, immersion and intelligence. This game has all. Expand

I bought he PS3 mainly for the blu-ray feature. Console games pale in comparison to the PC in my opinion, too linear and the controllers generally suck. Eye changed my mind, it's a fun and engaging strategy game. One caveat, be careful of image burn in on your plasma TV! Expand

I didn't care for it at all. I like trading card games but this one was just nothing exciting. I could see the same thing and have more fun by watching really old episodes of Yu-Gi-Oh. Expand
