  • Summary: The Godfather The Don's Edition includes The Corleone Expansion Pack with new gameplay and missions. The game offers brand new ways to go from Soldier to Don as you gain control of the streets of New York. Follow the path of an Enforcer or Operator; each with its own unique perks and abilities to earn. Now you can chat up specific characters to get the skinny on dirty cops, take down two additional revised compounds of rival Families, execute five new contract hits, and call in larger Corleone Hit Squads when the going gets tough. With The Godfather The Don’s Edition also having the new Shipyard and Rail yard transportation hubs to explore and exploit; your path to the head of La Cosa Nostra is wrought with all new perils and excitement. The Godfather The Don’s Edition takes full advantage of the SIXAXIS controller for PS3; manhandle your controller to manhandle your opponent. [Electronic Arts] Expand

  1. This is one of the strongest versions of the game, without a doubt, coupling a dynamic character creation system with deeper gameplay.
  2. I will commend EA for not porting over the Xbox 360 version and just adding a fresh coat of paint. They went ahead and added new Blackhand moves, new executions, upgraded graphics, new side missions, and a host of many new features on your way to becoming the Don of NY.
  3. The Godfather: The Don's Edition might be a last-gen retread, but for what it's worth, it's still one of the better titles available for the PS3 right now.
  4. The game experience isn’t all that far removed from the Xbox 360 version (to be fair there is a lot of new content that isn’t available anywhere but on the PS3), but it’s as good a game as any to pick up for PS3 owners starving for some valuable entertainment beyond SCEA’s first-party titles.
  5. 72
The Godfather: The Don's Edition doesn't feel next-gen. Even with the new additions, it plays like a PS2 game.
  6. A decent port job that adds enough to keep first time players entertained, but seasoned Godfather vets will probably stay away.
  7. 37
The dominating impression of The Don's Edition is that this is a very lazy PS3 port, with a lame attempt to justify its existence by bolting on Sixaxis functions and throwing in extra content in the form of The Corleone Expansion Pack. [Issue #151, p.91]

This is the best gangster game ever made! Remember when they made reviews of Saints Row 3? How much did Saints Row 3 score? How many reviewers later said that they were wrong? OMG how the heck can they rate Godfather 6,9? It should be illegal rating it like that. It really deserves a big golden 10! The graphics are perfect and makes it feel like you are living in old days, the guns are perfect and many varieties. It's a long game full of opportunities... everything is entertaining to the maximum and FACK all these busters who rate this game below 9! Collapse

This game does a good job on taking on the best movie of all time with its missions and making sure that you still like to watch the cut scenes that develop the story. Taking over businesses gets bring after a while but you can complete favors and hits on other families which makes it a bit better. But the graphics are just awful, unless you love the Godfather to pieces or can get it for cheap then just keep the Ps3 version. Expand

I'm close to tossing this game. Every GD time I get into a battle my weapon disappears and while I'm farting around trying to recover it, I get iced. WTF????????????? Expand
