Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09 Image
  • Summary: This year's Tiger features dynamic, personalized gameplay via Tiger Woods' personal coach, Hank Haney. Looking to drive the ball long and straight? Trying to nail the pin with the approach shot? An all-new addition to this year’s game, Haney will assist gamers as they hit the links and try to advance their career to win the FedExCup. In Tiger Woods PGA Tout 09, a player's skill level is dynamic, constantly adjusting throughout the round just as it would during a real afternoon out on the links. Following each round, Haney will deliver customized feedback on a player's performance. This feedback system allows all gamers, rookies or PGA TOUR pros, to compete and enjoy the game at any level. EA SPORTS GamerNet is a ground-breaking online innovation that features a refined, easy-to-use interface in Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09. EA SPORTS GamerNet challenges, such as long drive, approach shots and putting will be delivered instantly throughout all game modes and players have the ability to post their challenges from the fairways. EA SPORTS GamerNet also features an all-new daily leaderboard and challenges customized to fit an individual's playing style. Online play has also been enhanced with Simultaneous Play. This all-new online engine gives up to four players the ability to play each hole at the same time, allowing players to get in a rhythm, swing when they are ready and make one round of golf even faster and more competitive than ever before possible. Tiger 09 is remarkably improved across the board.
  2. Tiger Woods 09 is a fantastic all around effort. The developers took everything good about previous editions in the series, fixed them up and presented us with the best golf game to date.
  3. In enhancing net features, it's forgotten those who want to swing solo. [Oct 2008, p.95]

Dynamic player characteristics make the game challenging and keeps you playing for hours. One bad round can absolutely destroy your character and force you to rebuild your attributes. Very well done. The overall game play is not very realistic, but this has always been a problem in EVERY golf videogame. Something needs to be done in future iterations of the game to account for the RIDICULOUSLY low scoring. Players routinely shoot scores in the low 50's, high 40's, which is simply unheard of the PGA tour. The 2010 version should place obstacles (shorter drives, more water, higher trees) designed to prevent scoring rounds in the 60's. Also, the team at EA should put serious consideration into allowing for user-generated courses in the 2010 version. But all of these requests are spices which would make an already great game perfect. The online game play is fun, the inclusion of a shot-clock was brilliant! The ability to post your best shots and scores online keeps you playing the game once you've achieved 100% game completion. If you're a Tiger die-hard like me (I've purchased the game every year since 2000), you'll love it; this is the best version they've developed so far. If you don't like other golf series, the online play and ability to fully-customize your character should keep you interested. If you're on the fence, it's definitely worth purchasing (or at least a rental). Enjoy! Expand

It's a very good game and looks very good. The way you can fit your clubs to the way you play is great.I don't care for the bland announcers. Expand

New courses are great....and the club tuning helps stand apart from other players online. However, fix the online play.!!! Thousands of us faithful TW golfers get dropped from the servers left and right for no reason! There are tons of other online games that don't even have a fraction of the connection issues, so why does this one?!? Us "hardcore" players, don't care what courses you make available to us.....all we want, is a good, straight up game to play, without concerns of what glitches will hurt us!!!! Expand
