  1. There are very few titles on the PSN currently that play anything like it, and the mix of puzzle solving and platforming is extremely well done.
  2. Trine is one of the most playable and likeable downloadable 'full' games of the last few years.
  3. Trine is just one of those games that a casual gamer can pick up and play a little or a lot, also a heavy Impulse Gamer can feel good at having this hidden gem in their gaming collection.
  4. Trine is a wonderful addition to the PlayStation Network and a worthy buy for anyone who enjoys cooperative games.
  5. In short, this one is well worth a try. There are plenty of ways to spend the money in your wallet on the PSN, but few are as pretty or as uniquely rewarding.
  6. Trine is a great game to get for some casual fun – try the demo and then splurge for the full version.
  7. The few rough edges that crop up as repetitive enemies and a weak link in the teamwork chain do little to detract from the very compelling whole.
  8. 85
One of the most inventive games on Sony's Playstation Network. [Issue#184, p.84]
  9. Trine is a fantastic title which offers a great mix of action and adventure. A game well worth considering.
  10. Trine is a brilliant single player title that really rewards those that like to think outside the box, and a unique gem of a game that is definitely worthy of your time.
  11. 85
One of the most beautiful PlayStation Network games. With traditional graphics, an interesting story and really good and fine gameplay. One of the best games on the PSN to buy.
  12. 82
A lack of enemy variety, disappointing conclusion, and the wonky multiplayer keep Trine from greatness, but this is still a highly recommended puzzle platformer.
  13. 81
It has turned out to be a surprisingly good game, perfectly combining several platforming elements with physics-based puzzles. Add some RPG, co-op and moody graphics and sound to the mix and you can say this game is to be recommended. Too bad there's no online co-op and that the trophies are a bit easy to get.
  14. There are other platformers around, but not many can offer brains and beauty, never mind such a happy ending. [Nov 2009, p.125]
  15. Trine is impressive with its beautiful and addictive platforming and Lost Vikings-esque gameplay. However, there's a lack of challenge in the early parts of the game, and the short game time leaves a bit to be desired. Frozenbyte should be applauded for their efforts though, and Trine is well worth the money.
  16. It might not take you that long to run through and the amount of skeletons you'll take to pieces might rack up like a Geiger counter, but this is a charming game. [Dec 2009, p.87]
  17. This gorgeous action platformer is fun on your own or with a couple of friends.
  18. All told, Trine was a stylish, clever game that certainly manages to establish its own identity.
  19. 80
Trine is an amalgamation of true and tested old-fashioned ideas gussied up with a modern twist, and is never anything less than beautiful, engaging and enjoyable despite its occasional lack of polish.
  20. Had the potential to reach classic status, but just falls short. Nonetheless, Trine is still a breath of fresh air and an addictive platform puzzle game that deserves your attention.
  21. Trine is a very special game. It reminds us of classic games like Another World, Flashback or Prince of Persia, but with a new gameplay based in co-op and great visuals. But it's too short and it has just one co-op game mode for 3 players in LAN, which is no good. If not for that, this would be one of the greatest downloadable games yet.
  22. 80
Trine is a good game with beautiful graphics and nice obstacles. The enemies are a bit boring, but that doesn't reduce the huge fun factor.
  23. The puzzles are fun and inventive. [Dec 2009, p.102]
  24. I wouldn't recommend playing the game for too long at a time for risk of getting bored with it. However, in small doses it is fun. The character dynamic is something new and when the thief is in play, it can be a blast.

  1. This is the best party game you can have at home without plastic instruments. Loses only for Super Mario Brothers Wii. If you have 2 more friends to play local multiplayer dont miss it. Get your Portable ID! Full Review »
  2. Some great ideas implemented really reall well. It's just a shame that this game remains a bit of a short one trick pony, but what a very stylish pony it is! Full Review »
  3. Not as good as they say. I bought this game a while ago when there was no demo for it only because I read some good reviews. after playing for about 4 levels I started to feel tired of the gameplay, it has a great story though I really liked the storytelling narrated like in a book and the characters are interesting too but the game felt like a chore after a while. Overall the game disappointed me but that doesn't mean it is a bad game. Full Review »
