Whether the uDraw (and Instant Artist) becomes a necessary peripheral, spawns new art talent, or just winds up in the technology drawer with your pre-Bluetooth headphones, still remains to be seen. But in the meantime, it's yet another fascinating look into the development of the integration between life and technology, and pretty fun to boot.

It's a pity that you get almost no information about how the drawing software works. If you know your way around Paint, you'll probably have no problem figuring it all out, but nonetheless we would have appreciated a little tour of all the available options. [January 2012, p.78]

A Move interface would have worked better. [Jan 2012, p.114]

Let's face it: uDraw Studio Instant Artist is a kid's game if there ever was one. That being said, it's a well-made game on a great piece of technology that will provide endless hours of fun for the little ones.

It turned me from an expressive soul who wanted to translate his feelings onto the board, to just some guy translating my anger onto a poorly designed game pad that's better to use as a cup coaster.

So where do I begin? Well I've analyzed this game with a team of artists and we've all come to the unanimous conclusion that this game is nothing but a steaming pile of cyan paint.

Not only did I feel restricted due to the clunky pen, I felt personally insulted by the generic artist avatar voiced by someone who really wished he had chosen a better career. This game has made me hate art in general.

The story of this game is really hard to follow. I'm finding it hard to figure out who the bad guy is or how to get to the first boss fight. So instead of actual content, the creators painted this game with a shiny coat of awfulness with just a hint of beige.

And this was supposed to be the best game of 2011? Why was everyone so hyped about this? Why am I reviewing it 4 years later? Why do I still own this disk instead of throwing it back into the fiery depths of the art underworld where it was created? These are the questions we should be asking ourselves.

I guess my dream of becoming a fine artist has been shattered. Thanks for ruining my life you piece of trash.
