  • Summary: [Dowloadable Game] In Warhawk, players experience the thrill of white-knuckle aerial combat with hundreds of enemy fighters, bone-crunching armored assaults and high-intensity infantry combat in a massive, all-out war fought both on the ground and in the skies. During gameplay, players are tasked with protecting their homeland from the invading Chernovan armada. By doing so, players take command of the most advanced war machine in the fleet, the Warhawk, capable of aerobatic dogfights at high speeds or hovering over ground troops providing tactical support.     At $40 for the PSN file, it may be the most expensive downloadable game you buy, but it’s currently the best online multiplayer title to hit PS3.

    The 40 dollar download feels about 10 bucks too much on principle, especially with the lack of a single-player campaign and only five maps. But this is simply the best online experience on the PS3 as of now.

    It seems a little odd to not have any single player options (outside of learning maps and practicing on a LAN game), but for those gamers that spend the majority of their time playing against others online, Warhawk is a good investment either way.

    With a new sci-fi setting, transformable mechs and some brand new RTS mechanics, the original Warhawk formula has definitely grown up but all this novelty come for a price.

    I love this game...Easily the best online 3rd person shooter available for the PS3. I would even say that Warhawk even beats Call of Duty in some aspects. Great game!… Expand

    the best reason to own a PS3 during its first year and still holds up as of june 09. the visuals and sound are nice but not alot of players play with the expansion packs. still, for $20 for the main game its worth it if you have alot of time to learn.....its not very noob friendly is this game. still,there is really nothing like it right now and yet another reason i prefer sony's big black ugly system.… Expand

    Can be fun and addictive often, but the lack of scope and aim in this game is a real letdown. An even bigger letdown is that there is no singleplayer.. it just feels like a rushed game that the dev's have wanted to get rid of during the BETA stages. Not many bugs from what i can see but that's far from the point.. If this game had singleplayer campaign mode it would be a really great PS3 title. Graphics are ok, but don't compare to the likes of Assassin's Creed, COD4 10 fold. Worth £20 max for what u are getting... rent it first.… Expand

    I bought this game in 2010, three years after the game was published so - yes it seemed a bit old in graphics etc. but I give it a try. It was interesting at first, there were some players in online (this is an online-only game!) and I had a friend also who bought this game so we tested the online. I did play it over 15 hours so it wasn't that bad. Actually, the 4-player split/screen online was something I really appreciate, that should be done more often in games! But in the end, the game had bad controls, IMO some dominant strategies, lacks in gameplay and also because this is a online-only game, it only last while it has players. I do admit my rating is a bit low on this but I can't give better I didn't like it. This is different from other shooters so you should watch clips from this game, maybe it's for you.
