All in all, Wheels of Destruction is a mostly fine game that doesn't really stand out in the car combat genre. It's also greatly hurt by its controls, which work well for most things, but when simply driving in a particular direction is tough to do in a game where driving is the focus, it's nearly impossible to recommend it right now. If the developers fix the control issues down the line, then it's a maybe; right now, your $10 is better spent downloading Twisted Metal 2 on PSN.

The battles you encounter in both the single player and online modes are fun and can keep you entertained for a while. However, the gameplay became pretty repetitive after the first few fights.

The several power-ups and the five unique classes in World Tour make up for the somewhat repetitive gameplay. But we want dynamic gameplay and awesome features that will keep our adrenaline high. Also, the lack of split-screen is an absolute dealbreaker because Wheels of Destruction could be a great game if a local co-op feature was included. That is not the case however. A cool concept, but a poor execution. Disappointing.

Varied track design isn't enough to save Wheels of Destruction from a trip to the junkyard.

  1. Mix of TeamFortress2 and Twisted Metal. Several classic game modes - Deathmatch, TeamDeathmatch, CTF. 5 different classes, 5 maps (hope DLC will add more). It's simple to pick up and play, with the controls feeling instantly intuitive, but getting to know when and where to use certain weapons and car classes takes time, adding plenty of depth to the gameplay. At a price of $9.99 USD it's an excellent alternative to Twisted Metal. Expand
  2. Will it ever beat Twisted Metal? No, but then again it doesn't intend too. It is however very good on it's own merits and great fun to play.

lenty of maps and mutators, enough vehicles to please ever type of player, a good selection of weapons, nice looking graphics and spot on sounds.
With upto 12 people per match (bots and online) will mean there's always a way to play even if the servers are quiet.
If you're fed up with boring CoD and fancy something a little different then I can highly recommend this terrific little title.

Not sure where to start with this one. It's a really bad game with a neat design. You can pick your class and then go out and take on the opposing teams. Sounds fun, but it's not. It's horribly boring with terrible controls and a lackluster community, even on day one of the game being out. I recommend you skip this one and look elsewhere for your vehicular combat enjoyment. This game wouldn't stand a chance even if it came out before Twisted Metal. The other high user reviews must be devs because I can't see anyone praising this game. Collapse
