Giana Sisters: Dream Runners could have been a good game on paper, but it gets dragged down by too many gameplay and technical problems, other than contents scarcity.
The clunky controls, combined with a ghost town of players to actually play this game online with, really works against this title.
While the concept sounds like fun, nothing works how you think and it ultimately turns into an unenjoyable experience. I really cannot recommend this one on any level.
Its dated looks, slippery controls, and occasional bugs don’t exactly help, but the lack of originality compared to both Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams and Speedrunners just highlight the problems with this copy and paste effort. Go play Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams instead of this.
Giana Sisters: Dream Runners is far too fast, frenetic and convoluted for its own good. Run away from this one before it entices you to spend any money.
A promising concept is steamrollered in a game that doesn't really work as a platformer and breaks down entirely as a racer. We'd rather be kicked in the shins for eight hours than play this again.
Mashing up platforming and racing is a great premise, even if it's a stolen one. It's a pity though, that sloppy execution makes Giana Sisters: Dream Runners one of this year's worst games.
