i play it with my 4 year old child and she like it. the problem is : its somehow difficult for children. it would be better to make it more easier or at least set difficulty change possibility. BTW i give it 10 because my daughter like it. tnks
The game can be repetitive but is ultimately a entertaining game. I see so many complaints here about Peta's involvement, as an animal lover I despise Peta myself yet please do not let this detract from the game play itself. The game is developed by a designer who used to work for Ubisoft so of course this is a great point on it's own. I think a lot of people honestly were too hard on this game. The process of saving animals from terrible situations is great and process. Also the sound effects are very simple yet on par with what would fit the game's color scheme and premise. I loved the color palette for the graphic design and the simple side scroller style of the game. Not every game has to be some advanced graphical 3D specimen to be fun, entertaining, enjoyable and over all fantastic. I would pay for this game with no question, the fact that it is free is just a bonus and very satisfying for me as a gamer and well known Graphic Artist/Youtuber/Cosplayer/Twitch Streamer.
It's a fun little free and cute game that has an OK but kinda non existent story easy and fun game play and nice cute as hell graphics and the characters are kinda bland but they are not supposed to be fleshed out this is supposed too be a fun, funny, cute, violent, and nonsensical little arcade game and it succeeds and it's and fun and two player and it's just fun to play when bored and not to want a very challenging and easy and fun to play, Overall it is an 7/10 try playing it you will probably have some fun.
Dont give this game to children!
The PETA animal life stories are so trash that they are cool.
In rest it's kinda fun, but gameplay is repetitive as hell. But acceptable if you hunt trophies)
Play it with two players. For a free game, it deserves more.
I am surprised to see a current user score of 2.7. I'm not saying this game is phenomenal, but for free it's actually a lot of fun. I downloaded Kitten Squad because it was free and therefore the perfect game to play for my YouTube channel. I've downloaded games that I've known nothing about before, but I've never enjoyed one enough to create 4 lets plays as I did earlier today with Kitten Squad.
When I downloaded the game I had no idea of PETA's involvement. Initially when I discovered this it was a turn off. Despite considering myself an animal lover I tend to disagree with PETA's tactics and I expected this game to be heavy with propaganda. But it's not. It's instead a top down game in the style of Binding of Isaac where cats save whales, dolphins, and other animals.
The game offers a local co-op option and the selection of guns available allow for strategic play between you and your partner.
Overall it's a free game, so you can't go wrong. It's a fun top down dual stick shooter that actually turns out to be surprisingly addictive. I will be going back to this. If you'd like to see our lets play check out ****/thegameplayas
Gameplay:
First thing I noticed is that it's insanely repetitive. There are no levels; you just go from room to room, shooting enemies and stuff. This gets boring pretty quickly if you're playing by yourself, so I played the game with my younger brother. Made it a little more fun, but still...
The enemies in this game - rather, the fighting style in this game is less than interesting, gotta say. All you do is constantly shoot at each other and pray you don't die because there's an insane amount of damaging enemies in the room (which is why two player is a lot better).
One particular thing I hate is that YOU START OVER FROM THE SPAWN AFTER DYING. There are no lives, no checkpoints, no nothin'. Doesn't matter how far you've gotten; you have to start over from the very beginning. The reason I hate this is that due to how easy it is to die, it seriously makes me want to quit instead of trying again for the 100th time.
Plot:
...meh. There is no overall plot to the game, just separate stories/quests with a different plot for each one. Honestly I could do without all the dramatic stuff thrown in (i.e. the sheep not thinking he's a sheep, but a "commodity". Seriously? Seeeeeriously?) and the only thing that makes me want to save the animals is because I love animals. Their stories aren't well written whatsoever and definitely not for kids.
Not only that, but aside from the dramatic storytelling, the plot barely impacts gameplay. If you removed the stories nothing would change. "Saving the animals" is just whatever animal giving you a few lines of dialogue and that's it. How rewarding...
Graphics:
I like art and the design, even if the cats you can purchase all look similar. The hats are cute.
Overall:
Reasons to get the game - it's free, it's a time killer if anything, the graphics aren't bad, and it's kinda like some sort of odd shoot 'em up?
Reasons to not get the game - the plots are extremely over dramatic, it gets boring pretty quickly, one player is way less fun than two player, the fact that it's obvious that the game just exists to promote the company's beliefs and not for enjoyment, insanely repetitive, and overall doesn't make you want to play it.
But it's free, so you're welcome to try it and see what you think.
This game is a basic shoot game, though it has a cutise name it is not recommended for younger children to play. The game is very basic, and is not really recommended for anyone
