The third instalment of the Nightmares of the Deep series did not disappoint me, even though I have not played any of the previous ones. With the phenomenal artwork, the excellent in-game experience, and the well written story line, I’m already wanting more games from Artifex Mundi. Please forgive me, but I must continue my search for a gold bird, tree, circle and sailboat and find Davy Jones' treasure!
Doesn’t break any Artifex Mundi tropes or anything, but also isn’t a bad time waster. Fans of light puzzles and predictable stories with damsels in distress that turn into the champion by the end will find what they’re looking for here.
All in all, this title is a satisfactory end to the Nightmares from the Deep story arc. While not the best of the Artifex Mundi titles, especially with its minor gameplay issues, it is far from the worst of the bunch and is still worth a play.
Hand in hand with famed and accursed pirate Davy Jones, we come to the end of the trilogy "Nightmares from the Deep 3". Some might say that the third titles were never good, but in this case Artifex Mundi has put the rest in one of the best point&click graphic adventures they have created to date.
Nightmares from the Deep 3: Davy Jones offers a formulaic but fun, unchallenging puzzle game wrapped up in a pirate mystery.
Nightmares from the Deep 3: Davy Jones could easily tide you over for a good six hours or so, with decent puzzles and beautiful artwork. The sheer amount of mini-games is impressive, with enough variety to prevent them from becoming stale here, but I do fear a lot of the concepts have been used in previous incarnations many times over.
