  • Summary: Become a Blitz master

Student? Veteran? Whatever your level, Backgammon Blitz is both a faithful adaptation of the classic board game and an updated tactical battle.

Race against a rival player to clear the board of your own checkers first, and then tackle the arcade-style Blitz mode
for the chance to really show off your skill. And, thanks to Cross-Play, you can even take on PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita players, too. Expand

If you're after Backgammon, you're in luck. Just don't expect anything more.

There's not a lot of content here, and unless you can find regular online opponents, that means it can all start to feel really repetitive pretty quickly.

Backgammon Blitz tries to accurately replicate the original game and it succeeds in doing so. The Blitz mode looks good on paper, but is micro transaction infused and requires lots of grinding to unlock the power ups. There is local and online multiplayer, which makes the game a whole lot more fun. The games tutorials aren't as detailed as Pure Chess or Hustle Kings, it doesn't tell you all the rules of the game or some type of strategy. Visually, it looks nice on PS Vita, but the frame rate suffers depending on the table you choose. If you are a Backgammon type of person, get this. If not, try a different version that better explains the strategy. After that, play this. Expand
