    A long and fun game, albeit one with a lack of properly executed back touch features and filled with graphical mediocrity. Skipping this will not make your heart skip a beat – we promise.

    The Vita copy of Dungeon Hunter: Alliance is in a rather unique and unsavory position. You see, the exact same game can be purchased on the PlayStation Network for less than a third of the $39.99 Vita cartridge cost, and cheaper still on the iOS app store.

    I love a good action-RPG but sadly, Dungeon Hunter: Alliance is my least favorite launch games for the Vita, and has only held my attention for as long as it has because I never played the PS3 version. And if you really must play this game then by all means get the PS3 version. You'll save more than $25 plus you might actually get to read the text on the larger screen. There are a lot better games you can be playing on your Vita, even if they aren't action-RPG.

    The hack 'n slash role playing game Dungeon Hunter Alliance is a lot cheaper on other platforms, and for that reason alone not recommendable for purchase on a PS Vita. From a gameplay perspective, this isn't a bad game, but it doesn't shine anywhere either.

    Gameloft once again had an opportunity to set the bar for what to expect from a genre game on the Vita, and once again they've set such a low standard it's not going to take long for another title to surpass it.

    Dungeon Hunter: Alliance isn't a terrible game, just an overpriced one. When you can nab the same experience somewhere else for nearly $30 less, it is hard to ignore that fact.

    Dungeon Hunter: Alliance isn't as polished as Diablo and lacks the charm of Torchlight. Battling through its varied levels and sorting through mountains of loot is fun, when glitches don't get in the way.

    Clearly not one of the best launch games for PS Vita, Dungeon Hunter: Alliance is just a poor dungeon crawler with lots of glitches and technical problems.

    If you already own Dungeon Hunter for your PS3, then I would stay away from this one. Aside from some minimal takes on control which do nothing to improve the gameplay, this is exactly the same game.

    Dungeon Hunter: Alliance is too much of a classic production with the poorest combat system on the portable market. Graphics lacks in definition and gameplay in precision, so the game is absolutely not an investment.

    Ubisoft must think the Vita audience is brain-dead to try to sell them a flawed, unimproved port of an already mediocre game for $39.99.

    Despite lengthy loading times, problematic multiplayer and a dull story, there's definitely some fun and a decent amount of gameplay hidden deep inside the depths of Dungeon Hunter: Alliance for serious fans of the dungeon crawler genre. For the rest, it would be wise to sheath that sword and wait for a discount or significant patch, because even with the additional elements added to the game, the lack of overall improvement just doesn't justify the nearly quadrupled cost from the previous versions, and new functions feel added on for the sake of adding rather than improvement.

    At the very least, Dungeon Hunter: Alliance does have a niche to satisfy, and it's at least nice to have some option for a multiplayer RPG right at the Vita's launch. It's very disappointing that it had to be nearly a direct port of a game that's been on PSN for almost a year, and the iPhone/iPod for much longer.

    Dungeon Hunter: Alliance is a lousy game. It's never particularly enjoyable, is technically clumsy, and looks like garbage. It may well be the worst game in the Vita's launch line-up.

    Dungeon Hunter: Alliance is more than simply a bad game. It's a cynical act of greed and apathy on the part of its publisher and developer. Avoid it at all costs and advise as many people as will listen to do the same.

    A shoddy conversion of a shameless Diablo clone, that was perfectly good value when it was a £4.99 iPhone download but not as a full price PS Vita game.

    Compared to some of the games that it has decided to price itself against, Dungeon Hunter: Alliance looks absolutely pitiful. Sitting this next to Uncharted, Army Corps of Hell or even Ubisoft's own Lumines, exposes Alliance for the cheap, nasty, outdated and outclassed little con job that it is. Expensive at a quarter of the price, this embarrassing waste of space has no business pretending to be a full retail game.

The graphics aren't outright stunning, but they do a good job of showcasing the Vita's graphical prowess, that with the addition of a deep and compelling levelling up system and a surprisingly good story makes this game easy to recommend to those looking for a RPG for their Vita. There are slow downs when the screen is flooded with enemies however these happen rarely and only last a second. Some may find the game repetitive, however the ability to save wherever and whenever allows you to enjoy the game in short bursts. The inclusion of many side quests and drop in, drop out multiplayer adds replay value and makes this a compelling purchase. Full Review »

    Visually it's acceptable for a PSP release, but I don't think it's good enough to be a Vita game.
