  • Summary: Vektor has been trapped inside the CPU for what feels like an eternity and you are his only hope of escape. As he travels through the CPU, help him recover his memories and destroy the different enemy types sent to hunt him. But be careful, the further Vektor gets, the more devious the CPU becomes! There is a whole world to uncover within your CPU! Hiding away are 150 levels (nodes), 27 worlds (zones) and 4 unique abilities to unlock and upgrade. With Vektor providing you with Detonate to destroy enemies, Boost and Super Boost to out run them and Boostenate to smash your way through, you are sure to be able to help him escape! Online leaderboards allow you to compete against your friends, those in your location and those closest to you in score.     escapeVektor is an addictive title, and a great choice if you're in the market for a new PlayStation Vita puzzler. The accessible mechanics, smart pacing, and intriguing narrative make it a compelling option, even if it can get a touch frustrating towards the end.

    While at times perhaps a little lacklustre, escapeVektor had all the potential in the world to have been so much more than the sum of it's deliciously minimalistic parts. With an intriguing narrative and pretty Pac-Man-esque visuals that serve as wonderful throwback to 'the good old days', escapeVektor certainly looks and feels the part, but even they cannot detract from a small, yet potentially deal-breaking flaw. And that's an overly zoomed-in camera view, which necessitates the requirement to play almost the entire game while holding down on the left shoulder button to pan the camera out to a more manageable viewpoint. What starts off as merely a mild irritant, soon becomes frustrating to the point of cursing the lack of an option to simply toggle between views and just giving up. Even an option of switching this around (to holding down to zoom and releasing to pan back out) would have worked so much better. Of course, I'm aware that this may only sound like a very small thing, but so was the proverbial straw that broke the camels back. EscapeVektor is recommended (with caution) for retro enthusiasts and some corners of the hardcore gaming community, but the more casual gamers out there will probably want to give this one a miss. At least until Aussie developer, Nnooo wakes up and fixes that camera!… Expand
