Tetris has met its match. Lumines: Electronic Symphony is a painstakingly scrawled love letter to puzzle games and electronica of every stripe. Not only should every Vita owner buy it, every person who cares about video games should play it.

Q Entertainment does it again. They made one of the most distinctive early PSP games, and now they do the same with Vita, managing to create a new and stylish experience that will delight fans of electronic music.

This is easily the best game in the series and one of the most recommended buys of the launch portfolio of the PSVITA. It doesn't make the most of the console technical prowess nor uses imaginatively any of its touch control possibilities, but it is a puzzle game that fans of the genre will love for months.
  4. Feb 20, 2012
There is a disappointing paucity of extras beyond the main endurance mode. Players of Lumines could face off against a friend or against a murderer's row of computer characters; Electronic Symphony ditches the "versus CPU" option.
  5. Mar 5, 2012
Limited multiplayer options aside, Lumines Electronic Symphony blends puzzle, rhythm and visuals together in an almost euphoric way. What looks like a humble block-shifting affair at first glance is actually one of the best titles in the PS Vita's launch lineup. Throw in one of the best soundtracks you're ever likely to hear and we have an excellent purchase on our hands.
  6. Feb 21, 2012
Superb presentation and smart improvements to the Lumines formula make Electronic Symphony a great portable puzzle game.
  7. Mar 2, 2012
As enjoyable as ever, with its elegant electro playlist and classy visuals, Lumines Electronic Symphony is very similar to previous versions. We'd have hoped for more new stuff, especially for this price tag, and the lack of real multiplayer play is really a downer.

Perfect game for a Vita Owner.
It is hands down the best Lumines game so far. There have been some good and bad iterations (hello Android) but
it would seem the developer hasn't lost its spark of inspiration when they pulled off this true sequel to an already marvelous game.
I know from this day I am going anywhere without Lumies ES on my Vita.

Improves everything from Lumines 1 and 2. Music selection is much superior. New modes to play add value and RPG elements to unlock avatars make it worth replaying. Expand

Having been a lumines fan since me early Psp days, I have been looking forward to a true sequel which can spice up the old formula a bit more. And then there is the painfully long wait since the announcement of Lumines electronic symphony and bang it's finally here! Does it deliver? Hell yes! The visuals are dazzling the music heart pumping and most importantly there is A big boost in gameplay! It's so addictive that only this late can I find some time to write about it! 10/10! Expand

This game is hypnotic! It sucks you up until you're dead (in gaming terms of course), my only complain (totally personal) it's that I don't really enjoy the music that much, but the gameplay itself excels my own musical tastes almost certainly. Expand

I loved the games on PSP and I'm in love with this one. Once again LUMINES has managed to compose yet ANOTHER phenomenal soundtrack for their addictive tetris-styled game. Collapse

An amazing game that has eye-catching effects and simple yet amazing controls make this game a worthy Vita title for anyone to own. The game has a mode called Voyage in which you keep on going from a stage to the next trying to survive the longest and this created some sort of difficulty which was accepted for me.

All in all a great game is worthy of a review from TheGrimOfDeath. Peace.
