Metrico is a beautiful, imaginative, and ingenious puzzle game with an original idea at its heart and some seriously sharp brainteasers.
A thoroughly enjoyable game and in a market bursting with puzzle platformers, it manages to shine bright and bring something truly unique to the table.

All I can say is that Metrico is one of the best platformers for PS Vita. It has interesting design, nice music and great gameplay. Metrico is very unique, you can't find any game like this on any other platform.

PlayStation Vita
A must play for a puzzle game fan. It's got some of the most complex and rewarding puzzles I've ever experienced in a video game. There's also no form of hand-holding whatsoever. Completing these puzzles is solely up to you and your wits here. The solutions aren't always difficult, but with so many working parts the simple solution is often obscured leading to some great brain-teasers. It's always rewarding to make it past a particularly difficult puzzle once you realize what you were missing.
The game also ties in platforming and just about every Vita hardware feature there is into it's puzzles. Sometimes this can lead to some loose feeling controls, particularly when the tilt and rear-touchpad features of the Vita are involved, but overall it mostly works very well. The use of the Vita's camera in particular leads to some ingenious puzzles. Overall "Metrico" is an excellent, Vita exclusive puzzle title that I highly recommend any puzzle lover check out. It's a unique head scratcher that does things you won't find anywhere else. It also makes (mostly) great use of the Vita's hardware.

This is one of those games PS Plus users should not miss, and if you like puzzles and platforming it's a must-have. It's original and fresh, and even though it could have been a little bit more polished, it still is a great experience.
That aside, Metrico is a interesting puzzle game, albeit one that can sometimes feel like it's down to trial and error: a lot of times you'll have to show your working out.
While I applaud Metrico for using the Vita’s various tools, it is a game I might not be fully comfortable playing at a park bench or bus ride. I can only imagine the puzzled looks I get as people see me twist the handheld in different directions. And when the game requires the camera, I had better be in an area with a good light source.
Metrico looks and sounds the part of a critical darling, but laborious controls and empty narrative agency mar this chromatic trip.
This is your game only if you have the need to play every and each puzzle game. Any other gamer will run away from its strange visuals, the minimal use of technological resources and and idea that, far from the innovation intended, it goes in the opposite direction. Not worthy even being one of the free games of Playstation Plus.
Metrico is a very particular platform. It uses every part of this console, from sixasis to touch screen/touch pad. It has a great atmosphere with a peculiar music and it's very challenging with awesome puzzles. The only real problem is the longevity: only 6 levels. Don't get me wrong, the game is awesome, but you can beat it just in one session, or two.
The only tip i can give you is to wait until it get a discount. You won't repent with this game ;)

Games which are exclusive to the Vita are extremely rare, they are like a dying breed which is almost extinct. Nevertheless the Vita houses plenty of unique games with original ideas and designs, the newest of which is Vita-exclusive Metrico.
Metrico is a side-scrolling puzzle plat former unlike none other. Unlike in other platformers such as Super Mario, the platforms adapt to your actions, if you jump they may rise or if run to the right the platform may move to right aswell. There’s no pattern to the platforms as each will respond differently to your character no matter their size or shape.
The main challenge of Metrico is it’s puzzles. The answers to the puzzles are always different and extremely unconventional. For example certain puzzles will require you to fall to your death and respawn in order to pass. Players must think far outside the box to beat Metrico’s conundrums. This may annoy some as the answer maybe too obscure on occasion but overall this is what makes Metrico stand out from the crowd and also have extremely fun and interesting gameplay.
The puzzles steadily increase in difficultly through-out the game due to the increased options available to the protagonist. Metrico utilizes almost every aspect of the Vita. The touch-pad and touch-screen are used for shooting, the gyroscope for manipulating platforms and even the camera is used for light sensitive objects, yes that’s right, so expect to be holding your Vita like in Uncharted and AC liberation, up to a light bulb in order to progress in the game. Thankfully most of mechanics are great due to how well Metrico is designed for the Vita. Metrico is a great example **** which truly understands the system. But that being said the light sensitive puzzles are annoying as you have to break the flow of the game to find a light source.
Metrico has no story and no dialogue, this leaves this tail of infographics up to your imagination, the levels of ambiguity are heightened by the door choices at the end of each stage, what does this all mean? Well it’s up to. It’s not as intriguing as pulp fictions brief case but it certainly peaked by interest. What also peaked my interest was Metrico’s art style which is simple yet stunning. It’s great to watch the world in both the foreground and background unravel at every movement. It’s fun to see the colour schemes completely change as you progress through the game. The sound design also deserves praise for it’s deeply fitting and smoothing melodies.
Metrico has some small gameplay problems, some minor stuttering issues and a small trophy list but the biggest problem with the game it’s length which is only 2.5 hours. This was deeply disappointing as the gameplay is so fun and it abruptly ends.
For $14 dollars it is a little on the short side. However if you have Playstation plus price is no object as Metrico is free for the month of August so make sure to download it because it is certainly a unique experience.

Metrico is a puzzle platformer in which the platforms move in reaction to the players actions as they attempt to traverse from left to right across the screen. At first this is relatively simple with moving and jumping causing platforms but as the game goes on increasingly complicated inputs, such as titling the Vita or pointing the camera at specific colours, are added to the mix.
The game certainly looks unique and the majority of the puzzles are fairly logical which prevents the game becoming frustrating for the most part, although the insistence on trying to use every feature of the Vita does become a little tiresome when you are searching the room for something green to scan just to get a platform to move. Overall this is a decent game but by no means a must play as there are more entertaining/interesting puzzle games, such as The Swapper or Thomas Was Alone, available for Sony’s handheld.

I think this game is pretty unique. I don't really know how to describe it other than a "Pie Chart Puzzler". Basically you run around a series of Pie Charts and graphs which move when you move in a certain way or jump. The colors of this game are very cool and calming. It is a side scroller where you move from the left of the screen to the right of the screen. I haven't gotten very far, but there isn't really much of a story here. I would say it is a decent game. I wouldn't play it all of the time and i have a lot better games to play, but what makes this game good is it's uniqueness. I've never seen a game quite like it.I got it for free as it is free for PS Plus users this month. If i bought it i would still give it a 6 out of 10 though.

There is never enough PS Vita exclusive titles and Metrico is definitely a unique experience worth trying out. Especially if you are a mathematician in love with charts, as you will be running around in this eerie world full of graphs letting your brain boil by solving complex puzzles. It's ironic that such a precise mathematical theme game is so full of technical problems. Not sure how much it has anything to do with the fact that it's been done in Unity engine, but this is the third Unity game that I played and all of them were extremely buggy and poorly optimized, which is unfortunately also the case here. Despite being visually very simple, the framerate drops quite regularly, the loading times are terribly long, it's infested with bugs, entire pieces of environment not appearing preventing you to progress any further or game mechanics simply stops responding, forcing you to restart, which is especially fun if you're in the middle of a trophy challenge run that requires you to play entire worlds without restart. There are also some really bad game design decisions. It's refreshing to use unique Vita functions every once in a while, but if you design entire world mechanics around them and they don't even work properly, it's a problem and definitely not fun to play. For example, in some puzzles you are forced to direct your Vita at something green/red/blue, Vita is a portable handheld, so you're usually playing while travelling, or outside, where you simply cannot use many of these things, there were moments where I was in subway, or in the dark room and I just couldn't progress because of these restricting controls. Turning your Vita around 360° all over again is also not the best example of tight controls, besides you look like a moron doing this in public. Music had potential, I love electronic stuff and there were a few highlight moments like crossing the pyramid with deep vibrating synth lines ala Blade Runner in the background, but in most worlds the music got very repetitive and annoying quickly, disturbing your thinking tranquility when you're deep in the puzzle solving process, so I found it's better to just mute it all and listen to your own ambient stuff. Overall, I like that Metrico gave me an experience like no other game, but it wasn't always pleasant, the technical problems and bugs along with some of the bad controls really brought this title down, which is a pity. 4/10
