If you can't get through your day without a good beat'em up, then maybe Ultimate Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 is what you need, especially if you want to leave your friends speechless, but there's nothing really new here.

An impressive port that will satisfy seasoned fighters. [Apr 2012, p.61]

Not much for the single player, but you'll have a blast online.

It boils down to this: Either you're so hardcore into "Mahhval, baby!" that you simply must 'take it for a ride' everywhere you go, or you've dabbled in either prior console version of the game and want something deep with online play to give that shiny new Vita something to do. If you don't fall into either of these camps, then Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 on the Vita is probably not going to be worth your time, because you either prefer the console experience, have been worn out by the game already, or simply never cared for it to begin with.

For some people, the bottom line will be this -- is Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 for the Vita a faithful port of the console version? To that question, we would say, "Yes." It looks and plays more or less identically to the original game, and it has all of the relevant DLC as well. For those of you who need a Marvel vs. Capcom 3 fix wherever you happen to be, this game is pretty much everything you could hope for.

Since you're essentially buying the same game Capcom has already released twice, owners of the PS3 version won't miss anything essential skipping this. While this is in fact a great handheld fighting game, the touch features throw away any challenge and any skill needed to conquer the stages.

There's no real reason to buy the PlayStation Vita version of Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 as the touch-screen controls are both simple and repetitive. The home console editions are both better and cheaper.

The fluidity of the console version transfers nicely to the Vita`s analog stick. One could easily argument that this game is seriously lacking in game modes and overall content, but what little you get, well is a hell lot of fun!

The touchUltimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 is a great port to the vita, with beautiful visual and gameplay comparable to the console counterparts. The touch controls are very responsive and allows new players to experience the vast in depth fighting system . The use of the touch screen allows players to complete combos without the use of manual inputs , although this seems dumb down, completing Arcade Mode on Very Hard will still require skill and practice. There is also an option in online mode to turn off the use of touch mode for the use of traditional control inputs. Online play will vary from player to player , but in my experience there have been issues of latency in online match making and connection issues with inviting friends. Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom is a great fighting game experience on the Vita, just cross your fingers when it comes to the online mode. Full Review »
