FIFA 2001 Major League Soccer Image
  • Summary: Though FIFA 2001 is a solid enough game in its own right, the game's lack of innovation or significant upgrades keeps it from having the same impact as FIFA 2000.
Score distribution:

  1. 100
Lives up to EA Sports' tagline by re-creating soccer completely.
  2. 92
I can honestly say that FIFA 2001 is a damn fine game without any guilt or remorse. The animations are great, the sense of speed is solid, and the overall sense of the game is comprised of refinement and depth.
  3. 50
People looking for a more realistic and rewarding football experience go for "ISS Pro Evolution." If a fast and not too taxing kickabout is what you want, well, you know the score with FIFA games by now.

Pretty fun. I can only score 1 way though (center it and bicycle kick it from the middle) which makes it a little boring. Also i don't like any of the camera views. You can only have it too zoomed in or too zoomed out. Great graphics and good 2 player gameplay are what makes the game good. Expand

After I bought FIFA 2001, I spent 2 hours playing it, and then I went quickly to buy "ISS Pro Evolution 2"! This game is sluggish. Except for some good graphics, a relatively big team database with some real football kits (a thing which I like a lot) the game is not much enjoyable. You can easily score, and when you do so, you have not that nice feel of glory. The gameplay is not addictive at all and lacks real fun. If you want some really good gameplay, opt for ISS2, a really worthy purchase, not like this one. Bad EA!! Expand
