  • Summary: With four people joining in, the number of onscreen explosions, pig-speech comments, and all-around nuttiness nearly lifts the game into the same sphere of quality as Worms or Bomberman.

  1. It's not one of those blockbuster games that everyone must have but it is a somewhat original take on a genre that continues to provide fun and entertainment.
  2. The graphics are however, pretty good, the sounds are great and the gameplay is also pretty good.
  3. 74
Prospective buyers needn't worry about the purchase, but don't count on sticking by this gal till death do you part. She's a shallow porker.
  4. Crude presentation and lackluster humor can't save this game from the trough.

It starts of really easy but it gets harder and funnier as it goes along. You have to know your army ranks to be good at this.
  3. Okay, I'm trying to be honest and reasonable, Hogs of War is both, a good and a bad game; Hogs of War is also a unique game, the single player is about taking over islands to control the swill, you pick a team, and then fight against other real world nations, the nations include green which is the British Empire, blue which is France, light blue is the US with southern accents, yellow is Japan, grey is Imperial Germany and red is Russia, the green and reds are my favorite and I have been playing the campaign with my Soviet Hogs. I wish there were structures on the levels though, to make more sense, but believe me, the single player is so much fun to play. You should use an engineer, 2 snipers, 1 medic and the other is up to you, but don't have 2 medic. Your pigs will rank up and get better weapons as you play and get medals. The funny pig voices and jokes, funny losing dialogue in the multiplayer and fantastic turn-tactic gameplay is absolutely entertaining, but unfortunately, there are problems with this game: Okay, the main problem bringing this game down so bad is that in the multiplayer, you cannot pick your hog's weapons, so it's only basic weapons with few pickups across the maps and they only come once and don't get dropped again. I like to use the generate thing where there is more pickups and vehicles. With 4 teams, you can only have 3 pigs on a team which is really annoying. Regardless of what nation you pick, the main character of the game in the end appears to be green in the ending scene. Now, for a REALLY hard challenge, you get Mardy Pigs after completing the game (you can type that in when naming your team to get them as well), you play with them in the campaign after completing it with most of your Hogs surviving, you play again and fight only against the nation you originally used, but in the end in the swill level, all the other nations appear which must of been something the developers didn't check. Hogs of War is a great turn tactic experience with funny pig voices and humor, it's good fun in the single player and Hogs of War is a great spoof of the first world war era, but issues brought it right down in the multiplayer section, they should of put more thought into this game. But I'm giving it a 7 because of how much fun the game is. Apparently they were working on Hogs of War 2, but it just didn't come, for unclear reasons it was cancelled, which is such a shame. Expand

Was the only reason people actually enjoyed this garbage was because it starred pigs? I hated this game, hated it. Terrible gameplay (Broken Strategy/RPG gameplay) and controls, ugly graphics (Even for the time period), Hogs of War got practically nothing right and only served to be a game I can belittle for how awful it is. There is no fun to be had, and like people have said, "War is hell." With this game, it sure is. Expand
