100It's classic side-scrolling action like it was originally designed to be played. The two selectable characters and brain-spraining puzzles mean you'll get more than your money's worth in replay value.
-
85This is 2D action gaming at its best and I'll take this over almost any 3D adventure game or platformer any day of the week.
-
84Solid and consistent. If you loved 4 then you're almost certain to love 5. On the other hand if you've always hated Megaman then move on as this is truly more of the same.

80The challenge made for a frustrating game, but this keeps you driven to win. The graphics are nice, and the sound is good but the gameplay is what REALLY makes MMX5 worth playing.
-
75Every aspect from the story to the sound will be completely familiar to anyone who's dabbled with the series before, and while this latest adventure doesn't do much to advance the series, it's a fine little game nonetheless.

A fun game. It's classic Mega Man, a formulaic game that sticks to the same ground rules, but still works. And getting back into the familiar 2D groove just felt really good, especially with the gameplay refinements.
-
71Fans of the classic 2D games will no doubt find much to love in X5, while those who can't get into the aging conventions and mechanics probably won't care a great deal for it.
-
70It's a bit of a step backwards, taking the more exploratory 3D incarnations into consideration. Still, if you're looking for some chaotic old-school 2D side-scrolling mayhem, it's worth checking out.
-
70No big surprises here, from level design to weapon selection. A complete retread of yesteryear's game play.
-
Nothing more than a fun, nostalgic 2D platforming romp that will only appeal to true hard-core fans.
