58The updated roster, extra tracks, and added thunder card elements are nice endowments, but the overall driving experience is muddled enough to frustrate diehards and casual players alike.
-
90The sounds and graphics are as good as allowed on the PSX platform.
-
80Has all the realism most gamers will want, plus plenty of mini-games to keep you challenged.
-
60Steering becomes a problem even in analog. The least little movement of the analog stick jerks the car to the side.
-
Save your money for a PS2 and a copy of Thunder for that system. It's worth it. [Jan 2002, p.146]
-
85The racing in NASCAR Thunder 2002 is solid, fun and deep. Racing a career almost feels like an RPG when you take on the role of NASCAR's most famous teams and drivers.
-
70Cant live up to its big brother on the PS2, but dont let that stop you from playing it, especially if youre a NASCAR fan. Its fun, exciting, and very playable, but its hard to keep people whove seen the Sistine Chapel to appreciate graffiti.
-
Although the game is lacking in the audio department, the game's depth is what makes it special. For die-hard Nascar fans, I would give two thumbs up in buying this title.
