This one has it all -- an innovative combat interface, a sweeping story and some of the most gorgeous graphics seen in a PSX RPG. Quite simply, it's a must-buy for any console RPG fanatic.
  2. 100
Its powerful story, great cast of characters, gorgeous graphics, and one of the most inventive battle systems in a long time all work together to create an instant classic.
  3. To each his own opinion but for this one reviewer Legend of Dragoon is truly legendary.
  4. If I never again see a story that contains color-coded heroes, it will be too soon.
  5. Borrows too heavily from other games and lacks that "hook" to make it worth dealing with excessive defending, a thin story you'd expect to see on Power Rangers, and aural competence.
  6. CNET Gamecenter
    60
When all is said and done, The LoD is like your typical one-night stand: it's OK for a quick fix but it's nothing that will get you emotionally involved.
  7. Despite the hype, Legend of Dragoon is a soulless creature, a subpar game held aloft by deceptive marketing. Don't trust it.

I tell you the truth, this is one of the best RPGs I've ever played, and it's definitely among my top favorites of video games. For I tell you the truth, this is one of the best RPGs I've ever played, and it's definitely among my top favorites of video games. For me, this is around the same caliber of nostalgia as Ocarina of Time when I play it; I love the latter very, very much--definitely one of my favorite Zelda games. That should definitely tell you something about how much I love this game, too. The graphics are subpar compared to games today, but truthfully, I could care less about them. For me, it's mostly about the story and the gameplay, and this game phenomenally excels in both. We have Dart, who starts out as a bit of a lone ranger seeking revenge, joining up with more freedom fighters throughout the land of Endiness who deal with things amiss in their respective countries and ultimately banding together to defeat a being that threatens them all at once. The concept of fate (or destiny, rather) is a motif in the story, and it becomes impossible to think that all that happens is by mere coincidence. The music is also very well written, even if it may be MIDI. Couple the music with the aforementioned epic story, and you have yourself a game that no one could ever forget. If you find a copy and absolutely love RPGs with memorable characters, locations, and music, get it and enjoy it. It seems almost impossible to even THINK that one could regret making an investment like that! Expand
