  1. As a reminder of what came before Armored Core 3 Portable is effective. As an actual game though, it's far less so. We've simply moved on, leaving this a relic of the past that lacks the hooks it once had. Time for AC4 Portable.
  2. It's possible Armored Core 3 may well have offered something during the PS2 generation, but whatever relevance it might've had seven years ago - especially given its inelegant transition to the PSP - has long since passed.
  3. A port of a six-year-old PS2 title might not fit the profile of a platform defining title, and it might be more than a little ironic, but the fact that the game manages to accomplish this so far out from its initial release is a testament to its quality.
  4. If you're not already a fan of the series you won't be won over by this clunky installment. With an enhanced sequel coming out later this year, there's no reason to fuss with this eight year old PS2 game!
  5. I was almost worried that I didn't play it long enough or with enough dedication to really get into it, but then I realized that with every minute I played I just felt more and more contempt and loathing, so it was probably best to just put it down.
  6. For mech-loving masochists only. [Jan 2010, p.86]
