In an age where Nintendo feel it is fair to repackage individual SNES games and sell them as full price releases on the GBA, this anthology is undoubtedly fantastic value for money and is one of the most convincing arguments for owning a PSP yet seen. Utterly essential.
Capcom is billing the PSP version of their classics collection a "remix" but really, it's a whole new album. [May 2006, p.58]
Some of the game choices clearly could've been avoided, but, otherwise, you've got coin-op gold in the palm of your hand.
With excellent high-level production values, superb emulation, and an easy to use multiplayer interface, Capcom Classics Collection Remixed should definitely please most retro company fans.
Compilations generally don't do well, but Capcom gives PSP owners quite a treat with the decent emulation of truly great classics.
There's simply no getting away from the fact that the irritating reshuffle of titles from the console edition has left a sizeable hole in the appeal of this compilation, and the presence of a few too many relics best left buried does little to compensate.
Don't be fooled by the nostalgia factor - these games are tired and outdated. That you can put them in your pocket and play them anywhere doesn't actually make them any more fun. [June 2006, p.80]
