  1. Hacking your way through hell is quite enjoyable, and fortunately, making your way through all nine circles of it provides the game with a decent length.
  2. In terms of technical presentation, Dante's Inferno is a shining example of how an action game should be done on the PSP.

Both as a game and as an adaptation, Dante's Inferno is a noteworthy game, in a genre which is not so crowded and well-attended in the PSP. It does well what it tries to do, without taking too much risk.
  4. Even better than the 360/PS3 game. A must buy for fans of God of War: Chains of Olympus.
  5. Despite its scaled-back nature and too-late release on the PSP, Dante's Inferno is a pretty good action title with some over the top visuals and solid gameplay, even if it was late making it to the party.
  6. Dante´s Inferno on PSP is the same game than PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions. It means It has the same storyline, the same issues on the control but with a great difference: This is PSP. This PSP version has a top technical visuals and take more advantage of the capacities of the portable system.

It's as close to the PS3 version as you could hope to get, but that's not necessarily a good thing. [Issue#191, p.81]
  8. A nice porting that delivers the same entertaining formula of the bigger version. Thus, the evocative power of the settings gets lost in the reduction.
  9. The action-adventure with the slaughtering Italian renaissance artist Dante also works on PlayStation Portable. It features a lot of action and violence and is certainly one of the better God of War-clones.
  10. Dante's Inferno on PSP is the same game than on 360 and PS3. It lacks the visuals, but it mimics the controls, the gameplay, and offers the same storyline. Gritty and really fun, Dante's adventure is good on PSP, but it has the same flaws as the HD versions.
  11. I felt much more comfortable playing Dante’s Inferno on the PSP than I did it’s HD brethren. The distasteful enemies and depraved ambiance is much less notable here. Because of the technical limitations, it somehow tempers the experience. It may not be the most interesting game in terms of storyline but it fills a hole in the PSP game line-up. Just don’t buy it for your kids.

We can't recommend Dante's Inferno over the cheaper, higher-quality God of War: Chains of Olympus. However, if you seek an alternative to Kratos' adventure or want an action game that doesn't hold back on either its content (lots of nudity and gore) or action, it wouldn't hurt to make a pit stop in hell.

We'd definitely pick the PS3 version over this, but when it comes to kicking the afterlife ass on the go, Dante's Inferno is a reasonably solid option. [Jun 2010, p.79]

For whatever reason, it feels like A2M shoved Dante's Inferno as hard as it could into the game development version of Google Translate and have wound up with something that lost most of its meaning and intention in the process.

You can absolve or punish your foes and upgrading you holy or unholy powers is a nice touch. The graphics are good without being spectacular and the gameplay is fun! The only slight negative for me are the controls are a little bit loose which prevents me from giving a higher rating. Overall good game for the PSP and I would recommend anyone who enjoys hack and slash with some substance to give it a go! Full Review »
