Enough to keep players entertained for a couple of hours at a time. [Issue#199, p.94]

The game's appeal will quickly wear thin for older, more mature gamers, as the game's lack of a 'goal' besides keeping your pet happy. For those looking for the ultimate virtual pet experience for their children on the PSP, EyePet is their answer.
  3. Granted some activities are overly simplistic and repetitive and load times verge on annoying, but there always seems to be another unique EyePet interaction to explore and a seemingly endless parade of customization item to unlock. [Jan 2011, p.87]

EyePet was a good idea in home consoles, but its adaptation to PSP lacks a lot of polish, although they have tried to port it faithfully.

While cute and colourful, the PSP version of Sony's EyePet lacks content and really isn't portable.

The PSP version of EyePet lacks the main appeal of the PS3 version, which was being able to interact with your pet using your own hands and see him respond. By taking that away, the game is now no different than any other pet sim out there.

The PSP-version of EyePet could have been a good game. Instead, it is a crippled one, with a small collection of uninteresting mini-games.
