  1. It’s definitely worth a look if you’re after something a little outside of the ordinary, and is certainly worthy of at least a cautious recommendation.
  2. If you're willing to plug into the wall, be close to a Wi-Fi hotspot, and have the time and patience to play through a multiplayer session, there is still a lot to love.
  3. Even if the action overwhelms the tactic, Fistful of Cake is a great start for the first portable title of the brand.
  4. In a generation of finely tuned animation and seamless open-world environments, a cheeky taste of days gone has more appeal than simply nostalgia. Now pass me a quarter.
  5. Fat Princess is like a fairytale book, which tells the same story over and over again. Fun at the beginning, but it will get boring over time.

But those of us spoiled by the tastier PS3 entry may find this version more of a morsel than a true fistful. [Jun 2010, p.77]
  7. A new strategic concept for a very entertaining game, which has been very well ported to Sony's portable system.

There is tons of fun to be had, however, that needs to be tempered by a warning that there are online limitations.
  9. 68
Sure, if you can get a roomful of ad-hoc friends together or the online community booms with players who know what they’re doing, Fat Princess is a blast, but more often than not, it left me wanting.
  10. A great looking PSP game and features more content than on PS3, but the fundamental problems haven't been addressed. The single-player, albeit longer, is still quite dull, and the online matches still take forever, especially now communication is nigh on impossible. Fun but flawed.
  11. No voice chat and an over-reliance on stupid bots take away much of the joy in this silly take on capture the flag.
  12. Fat Princess: Fistful of Cake is the younger, fatter sister of the PS3-version from last year. Unfortunately she inherited almost all of the same flaws that plagued her older sister. The replayability of the game depends on how many people will actually keep playing the game online. Sweet and tasty at first, but it won’t take long until you’ve had enough.
