Critic score distribution:
  1. Positive: 3 out of 13
  2. Negative: 2 out of 13
  1. Fortix introduces you to the world of tactics and you really learn something you could maybe use in the future. If the graphics would be more detailed, it would be even better.
  2. Fortix is recommendable to anyone who enjoys a good arcade-style challenge, even if you've never heard of Qix.
  3. PSM3 Magazine UK
Ugly, but addictive. [Christmas 2009, p.94]
  4. Fortix is a strategic, mind bending puzzle/action game which will have you hooked from the moment you turn it on, it’s so very addictive and has that one more go appeal.
  5. It's a clever twist on an old standard but the cannons prove to be an irritation rather than a true challenge - their fast, ruthless volleys reducing too much of the game to a painstaking crawl, claiming a few pixels of space at a time as you inch towards a vital catapult. Fun, then, but in need of balancing.
  6. Simple, addictive and entertaining concept that could have been dangerously compulsive with a little more balance and polish.
  7. Playstation Official Magazine UK
Hours of carving out tiny chunks of land and cowering in corners. [Dec 2009, p.18]
  8. Play UK
Let down by an insane difficulty level. [Issue#186, p.87]
  9. The graphics are basic, the load times are too long and the game needs a fair amount of balancing – an update could make it much better.
  10. 50
Fortix is unfortunately another PSP Mini to have intriguing gameplay and then fail in execution.
  11. I really liked Fortix until I discovered I could cheese my way to victory. Of course, you don’t have to play that way, but once you know you can, it’s basically over. Since Fortix isn’t a particularly long game in the first place, being able to blaze through every level takes some of the fun out of it.
  12. AceGamez
Fortix is driven by a sound gaming mechanic that’s almost difficult to criticise. “What you see is what you get”, “Does exactly as it says on the tin” etc, what is easy to criticise though, is the difficulty that gets much too intense for a game designed for 5 – minute bursts, as well as a visual presentation that’s just downright ugly. Combine this with a total lack of clever features and we have a game that’s just a borderline stinker.
  13. It's a really difficult game and the payoff (entertainment value) is pretty weak.
