  1. A Rookie mode simplifies the controls for beginners (don't worry, you still have Advanced controls) and there's Franchise mode and the Madden Moments from the console editions (called Superstar Challenge), but the on-field action looks and sounds too similar to last year's game.
  2. As expected the PSP version is smaller than the home versions, but the awkward camera and poor online functions spoil this great game.
  3. Madden and PSP have gone together beautifully for years now, and for better or worse this season is no different.

It's still a decent game for fans to play, but if you were looking for a big leap forward for the portable version in the 20th edition of the franchise, you're not going to find it here.

Leaves out many features that were included in 08 such as ingame instant replay and breaking down the play commentary, accelerated clock, falling rain and snow effects. It also adds a cumbersome menu interfact that forces more scrolling and clicking through the playcalling menus. Scrolling through the player rosters is much slower than in 08 - a big blow to anyone who likes to customize player roster ratings. 09 adds annoying graphics that take up precious PSP screen space and can't be turned off. The sprint button has been remaped to the right trigger button and can't be remapped. Expand

Do you think they're going to keep adding more and more Madden games every single year? Eventually they're going to have to stop, hey. Sure it isn't extremely terrible, it's just all it is really is your every day boring old Madden game, which, from my opinion, is referred as crap. Expand
