  1. Like any other sports title, NASCAR 07 isn’t going to make converts of the uninitiated, but it’s a remarkably immersive game experience for the stock car racing faithful, and that lands NASCAR 07 for the PSP on victory lane and not pit row.
  2. A few missteps here and there doesn’t hurt the enjoyment that the game offers, but they should be a focal point for EA Tiburon to focus on for next year’s game.
  3. NASCAR is a deep and enjoyable game that sacrifices little in the transition from consoles to the PSP.
  4. While better analog control would have made a huge difference to the gameplay, what is here is enough to give NASCAR fans a good enough reason to buy this game.
  5. I am genuinely impressed by the excellence and speed of the races, and my only complaints are with the often-annoying agent in the "Fight to the Top" mode and the poor sound effects during the races.
  6. Although NASCAR 07 remains pretty much the same decent core game as last year's model, this year's model is just a little more fun for newcomers and a little more chaotic for long-time racers.

The lack of better analog support (which is a hardware issue) and the fact that you can't use a steering wheel may impair the experience for hardcore fans, but stock car junkies who simply want to jump in and speed around the track a number of times will find a fair bit to like here.
  8. If you own a PS2 or Xbox then that would be the format of choice, but if you need to take your racing on the road or want to explore the PSP-exclusive features then you might just want to take NASCAR for a spin around the track.
  9. It doesn’t have all the bells and whistles of its console counterpart, but if you need a portable NASCAR fix, this game will do.

While the graphics and sound are mostly pleasing and the numerous modes and events will keep you busy, I think the difficulty should've been adjusted, and online play should have been made a factor.
  11. While the improved handling has bettered the console game experience, the limited movement of the PSP's analog stick will have you swerving all over the track, and playing bumper cars at 185 mph. [Holiday 2006, p.86]
  12. NASCAR lacks a rearview mirror option, which is crucial in a game where you're almost constantly surrounded by other cars. [Nov. 2006, p.122]
  13. While the lack of decent multiplayer is a dim-witted compromise, the Adhoc mode available is quite well featured.

Clunky controls made me forget it. Sad, it could be an interesting game.
