  1. By far one of the most delightfully engaging and deep basketball games on the PSP so far, NBA ‘07 is not only an improvement over last year’s fun offering but it’s also a game that is good enough to give the other NBA b-ball games a run for their money.
  2. NBA 07 doesn’t try to be something that it is not. It’s an arcade basketball title and it does that very well. The addition of the seriously fun minigames and improved presentation make it easy to recommend this iteration of the franchise.
  3. Graphics have been tweaked, sound improved, color and play-by-play commentary added, and AI beefed up to offer a far greater challenge despite some lingering flaws.
  4. An enjoyable basketball title, and one of the best available to date on the PSP handheld.
  5. Basketball, schmasketball. NBA '07 is all about the extra game modes. Dodgeball, Skee-ball, Pop-a-Shot, Pinball! Who needs to play any basketball. Seriously, NBA 07 will be appealing to anyone that enjoys playing games and keeping themselves entertained.

The new mini-games offer a lot of fun and replayable depth to the title, the inclusion of color commentary and instant replay amps up the presentation value.
  7. So long as you go into things understanding that this isn't really a console-level basketball experience and that it's uniquely designed for shorter, more portable games, you end up with a shockingly good basketball entry. If they end up adding in some of the fluff from the console versions next year, it's going to make things near irresistible.
  8. The real winner in this whole package is easily the Conquest Mode, which comes out of nowhere to seamless blend strategy into a sports title with undeniable results. There is plenty more here to love than to hate, and for many of us, that’s enough.
  9. The addition of the Carnival and Conquest mode is a nice side track from the trappings of the season mode, which is wrapped up in a nice level of polish from the graphic and audio side.
  10. PSM Magazine
It's awesome enough to stand alone as it's own game. [Holiday 2006, p.86]
  11. A decent game that's best played in the story "Life" mode.
  12. After three years it is my honest opinion that Sony’s series needs a shot in the arm to take it to a new level as there are still some computer AI issues that need to be worked out.
  13. In practice, it’s a forgettable game that offers less than its competition. Instead of taking an evolutionary step up from last year’s version of The Life, the game is content to shovel out more of the same.
  14. As much as I wanted to like it, I couldn’t recommend NBA ’07 to any of you out there, especially if you’re interested in actually playing basketball.
  15. Despite the game’s many faults, however, it’s a hell of a lot of fun to play the Conquest mode, and that coupled with the mini-games offer enough value to make it a worthwhile purchase as it’ll stay in your PSP for a long time to come.
  16. A ton of gameplay, a ton of issues.

Despite some innovative new modes, it's how a game plays that matters most, and it's here where NBA 07 fails to grow. Thus, its appeal has shrunk. Either switch over to "Live 07," or keep your old "NBA 06" UMD close at hand.
  18. Whoever was in charge of programming the AI fell asleep at the wheel. The computer is at time[s] such an unholy bastard that playing against it makes me want slam my PSP against a wall. The AI will do whatever is necessary to make sure that you lose.
  19. In the final analysis, the Conquest Mode alone helps turn NBA 07 from a lottery pick into an 8th seed - good enough to make the playoffs but far too flawed for a run for the title.
  20. Behind all of the minigames and new play modes, you'll find the same old problematic gameplay.
  21. If NBA 07 didn't have such a horrid problem with blocks making every shot a risk no matter who is guarding, the game might have turned out better.
  22. It may not be perfect, but NBA 07 offers a respectful game of b-ball on the PSP.
  23. 40
The general game isn't any fun because there's no personality and the AI hunts down too many shots for its own good. The graphics deliver, but the sound needs some work, especially with the stiff commentary. And you guys need to touch up your multiplayer as's shoddy.
  24. Play UK
Clunky, jerky, boring and tiresome in equal amounts. [Issue#153, p.90]

gameplay is terrible, the psp needs a 2k basketball game that runs smoother and is not such a pain in the ass to play.
