Apr 6, 201184While the difficulty might turn some people off, the game holds an absolutely amazing amount of depth. Not only that, when you consider the title is only $20, it makes it even more of a good deal. Sure, most fans of NIS probably have this for the PS2 or Wii (or both), but if you don't, you owe it to yourself to pick it up and give it a spin.

Mar 9, 201174With 50+ hours of gameplay, an epilogue mode, and plenty of replay value, Phantom Brave has tons to offer those who pick it up. That is, if you haven't already.
-
Mar 7, 201171Phantom Brave: The Hermuda Triangle has all the elements and aspects of a solid strategy/RPG, and despite the fact that it's more than a few years old, it delivers what it promises. Unfortunately, the whole thing feels a little more muddled than it should've been.
-
Apr 19, 201170Phantom Brave: The Triangle Hermuda is undoubtedly a good turn-based strategy. Unfortunately it is too similar to the original and doesn't have the same quality of Disgaea.
-
Mar 11, 201170Phantom Brave is definitely a great game, but this low-effort regurgitation just doesn't impress like it should.
-
Feb 28, 201170There are far more approachable entries in the genre with much less complex and more forgiving systems.
-
Mar 23, 201168Phantom Brave: The Hermuda Triangle is just a porting of the original PS2 version. Some gameplay flaws keep the title far from NIS standards.
-
Mar 3, 201168Phantom Brave: The Hermuda Triangle is a solid translation of a classic title, with some new characters thrown in for good measure. Still, the game unfortunately shows its age in several areas, making it a must purchase for series and/or Disgaea fans only.
-
Apr 22, 201167Phantom Brave is a charming little adventure game from people who know a thing or two about the genre. Unfortunately, the intriguing quest is marred by shallow gameplay and some pacing issues. If you're already bored of the newer role-playing games, then give this seven year old port a good long look!
-
Mar 9, 201167Sure, it's fun, but partway through, I had Disgaea 2 back in my PSP to remind myself that I've played this before.
-
Apr 6, 201161It's a good strategy RPG with an immersive plot, but it's very complex, the difficulty is high and its tutorials are lengthy. There are better RPGs out now, though.
-
Apr 17, 201160A fun if slightly dated entry into the PSP's already crowded SRPG collection, Phantom Brave: The Hermuda Triangle will prove enjoyable for fans of the genre and frustrating to all others.
-
Apr 3, 201160If you're aching for more SRPG action from the makers of Disgaea then this is a solid choice, but an eye rollingly bland plot and ironically.
-
May 17, 201150The first half hour of this stat-heavy RPG is as incomprehensible as Mission: Impossible in Turkish. [June 2011, p.111]
-
May 16, 201150While I found issues with the control scheme on PSP hardware, it's something that comes with the territory and may have already determined what platform Phantom Brave is best suited for in anyone else's mind.
-
Mar 21, 201150While Phantom Brave: The Hermuda Triangle isn't a poor game, it fails to distinguish itself from the multitude of tactical RPGs already around.
