I really don't have a lot to say about this game other than it's definitely a game you need to play if you own a PSP. The storyline was thrilling, except for the ending. It left on a cliff hanger. I wish Sony would hurry up and make a sequel to this game. I hate cliff hangers.

The graphics for the cut scenes have increased immensely, while the added swimming levels work excellently, which is something I never thought I'd see. Multiplayer's been made better as well. Overall a great game - even though Dark Mirror will likely have higher scores because of the shock it caused, for my money this game's just as good - and as good as a sequel could be. Expand

This is easily one of the best games on the PSP. It defines what a shooter should be on the PSP. The pros for this game are many. First, the presentation. More important is the gameplay. The campaign is lengthy and fun, and boasts great replayability. One can find themself replaying the campaign more than three times to boost their career stats and unlock bonus levels. The story is typical, though, as Logan finds himself fighting waves of enemies and encountering super model secret agents all en route to free his partner Lian Xing and her scientist husband. Besides the main campaign the game has some of the best online play availible in the PSP. Both Ad Hoc and Infrastructure are availible with up to eight players per match. Online has many levels and modes, including DM, TDM, CTF, and Rogue Agent (where the player tries to kill the rogue to become the rogue). All of these online modes can be played with different weapon sets(sniper being a favorite) which depend on the host's liking. The gameplay is tied together with a solid control scheme which works beautifully when coupled with the cover system. Given, aiming with the face buttons will take some getting used to, but is fine once mastered. This game as a whole is a complete package which deserves your time and money. Expand

This is probably the best game for the PSP and one of the best third person shooters of all time. 1 - Offline multiplayer 2 - Online multiplayer (Several different modes, chat rooms, message boards, and groups for communication) 3 - The best graphics on the PSP. 4 - It'll last you around 20+ hours. 5 - Allows the player to blind-fire and swim. 6 - The environment is very interactive This is probably the best game for the PSP and one of the best third person shooters of all time. 1 - Offline multiplayer 2 - Online multiplayer (Several different modes, chat rooms, message boards, and groups for communication) 3 - The best graphics on the PSP. 4 - It'll last you around 20+ hours. 5 - Allows the player to blind-fire and swim. 6 - The environment is very interactive (levers, switches, ziplines, ladders, explosives, etc.) 7 - Allows you to use night vision, x-ray vision, EDSU vision, and a flashlight. This is definitely one of the best titles to grace the PSP. An almost perfect action/shooter game in every way. Unfortunately, there were some negatives: uninspiring storyline, poor collision detection when using a sniper rifle (even though game uses Havok physics), the game does not take full advantage of what the physics engine is capable off; including some physics based puzzle elements would have been a big plus; almost a complete lack of interesting boss battles; the button mashing QTE sequences are pretty unnecessary or could've been replaced with some nice scripted cut-scene events; there should've been more levels where a player had to be stealthy to keep things more interesting and balanced. Other than those few issues, this is an easily recommendable game. Enjoy. Expand

This game is as good if not better then Dark Mirror. The button control is very accurate as is the weapon feel. Story is engrossing and is very enjoyable. I hope that Sony comes out with more games like this that work on the PSP.

One of the best games for the PSP. Reminds me a lot of the first Metal Gear Solid in that you can use stealth and force. Great graphics and gameplay. The underwater levels are incredible. With over 20 levels, this game lasts as well. Add the fun multiplayer (which is shockingly good) and you have the game of the year for the PSP. Truly cinematic gaming on the go.

  1. This well-rounded, gorgeous game delivers on all fronts with scarcely a problem in sight. With superb and precise controls, Logan's Shadow provides gamers with an intriguing story, a variety of environments and all the tactical gunplay they can handle.

If you're a stealth-action fan who's still ignoring the Syphon Filter franchise, you're doing yourself a disservice. [Nov 2007, p.118]
  3. Syphon Filter manages to deliver a very enjoyable third-person shooting experience like few other PSP titles. I’m not a fan of using the face buttons for aiming, but this game’s pace – most scenarios revolve around advancing towards cover, eliminating the targets, then advancing again – is more suited to this configuration than more frantic action titles. I also like the new advanced grappling, stealth kill features, and brief God of War-style button mashing sequences.
