  1. To be frank, Tekken 6 features the most complete and rewarding fighting experience on PSP, and is a must buy for any fan of the genre.
  2. Tekken 6 on the PSP does everything you would expect and more. There are a lot of fighters, the loading times are surprisingly short, it looks just awesome and the battles are intense!
  3. It's Tekken, through and through. You'll either find that a comfort or a detraction, but love or hate the series, there's no denying that its reached the top of its game with this latest entry. If you're a fan, don't hesitate to pick it up.

Fantastic to look at and fast and fluid to play. [Issue#187, p.76]

Tekken 6 on the PSP is exactly like the PS3 version of the game, only the scenario mode is missing. The scenario mode on the PS3 version is pretty boring so you don’t miss a lot. The game is a great fighter and it’s got a lot of fighters as well. Great graphics and is perfect for the fans.
  6. If you are looking for a fighting game on the PSP this should be your first option.
  7. 88
Also on the PSP, Tekken 6 has turned out wonderfully. This fighting game doesn’t have to admit defeat to its bigger console-brother at all. Graphics and sound are of a high level, controls are perfect and the forty fighters – with their own moves – won’t quickly bore you. Too bad there’s no online multiplayer, a contemporary must of this genre.
  8. The fighting engine remains solid, the graphics look awesome for the system, and the sound and controls are excellent.
  9. A wonderful port that bestows PSP owners of one of the best beat'em ups ever, surely the best portable one. Great controls, fast fights, amazing visuals. This is Tekken 6 for Playstation Portable.
  10. Tekken 6 on the PSP is a fully competent and feature packed release. No corners were cut in this port of this excellent fighter.

Tekken 6 has a lot to offer, including a massive roster, refined gameplay, plenty of modes and a smooth Ad Hoc multiplayer experience.
  12. The fighting engine is still amazing, and there's a ton of fun to be had. The drastically lowered load times, and portability of the system make this a compelling option even when compared to the console versions.
  13. The Tekken series of fighting games went a little off the deep end years ago and hasn't really improved the situation with recent revisions, but they do know how to make a slick PSP port with incredible graphics and smooth gameplay.
  14. Tekken 6 on the PSP is a fully competent and feature packed release. A great fighting game on the PSP.
  15. As a port, Tekken 6 offers some of the best fighting you'll encounter on a handheld, though if you already have a copy on the consoles, there's little point in splurging. For better or worse, the game provides an identical experience across the board.
  16. Great graphics, a whole bunch of fighters, as well as nice customization options make fun. Unfortunately, online fights and the adventure mode has been canceled compared to other versions.
  17. A fighting game with a classic, solid gameplay, a cast of forty characters, various modes of play and several rankings and customization. Tekken 6 on PlayStation Portable is probably the best version of this game.
  18. Everything presented here works well, and while I'd still like to see a good online mode in the future, I can't argue against much of what's present here. Definitely worth checking out, and one of the best fighters you'll come across on Sony's portable this year.

Like Soul Calibur Broken Destiny, another Namco Bandai developed 3D fighter, Tekken 6 is a quality port that closely resembles its source material.
  20. A top pocket beat-'em-up in its own right, but a little lacking compared to its predecessor. [Feb 2010, p.73]
  21. Tekken 6 isn’t an open invitation to join the country club. The requirements for admittance are the same as ever; practice, practice and practice. Tekken hasn’t changed much here, but it keeps building upon a strong, rewarding foundation.
  22. Story mode suffers from some weird plot touches. [Jan 2010, p.108]
  23. Bigger doesn’t always mean better, as proven by Tekken 6 for the PlayStation Portable. This pocket-sized game impresses more than its console counterpart. It’s quite possibly the best fighting game on the PSP to date. The minor improvements in the game play make the game as a whole more balanced. Only point of critique is the weirdly chosen final boss, but when you look past that, the game is packed with quality.
  24. An excellent version of a great game. I don't even miss the parts that was removed from the PS3 version. It looks good, has great control, a lot of characters and fits the handheld formula well.
  25. Tekken 6 is now available on the small screen and the results are pretty enjoyable.
  26. Overall, Tekken 6 is one of the best fighting games for Sony's portable console.
  27. Even with some technical issues, this PSP version manages to be surprisingly similar to the X360/PS3 versions.
  28. Just like with Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection this is a successful adaptation of the original game to the portable format.
  29. It may be light on gameplay modes, but Tekken 6 is still a great fighting game sporting some serious good looks.
  30. 80
Tekken 6 for PSP is a fantastic addition to the already strong lineup of brawlers on Sony’s handheld.
  31. The Tekken 6 PSP experience may not be as "complete" as some may have liked, but the game packs enough punch to make it a worthwhile addition to your portable game collection, particularly if you’re a fan of portable fighting games.
  32. Portable version inherits many issues of the "bigger" version, but Tekken finds a new "raison d'etre" in its portability.
  33. 80
Sure, it's got flaws and omissions, and whoever approved the inclusion of the final boss should be made to suffer, but as fighters on the PSP go, this is as good as it gets.
  34. 80
Namco has done great things with Tekken 6 on the PSP. It's enjoyable both alone and with friends, it looks and sounds terrific and has the one thing most portable fighting games lack, and that's enjoyable gameplay.
  35. Tekken 6 is a viable choice if you want to play a solid, quick-action fighting game for the Playstation Portable.
  36. The game excels at preserving the core arcade mode from the console version, but the lack of online mode gives the portable version less replay value. Still, with robust customization and a different story format, there is plenty of content in the PSP version.
  37. Visually spectacular, a great beat'em up in the core, but with the wrong approach in the gameplay, victim of an almost nonexistent online and plain single player modes. Technically a good port, counting that it comes from PS3 ad 360 versions to a handheld, but the final result is far away from the excellence shown in Dark Resurrection.
  38. It just doesn't feel as fresh - or as fun - as Dark Resurrection. [Feb 2010, p.76]
  39. As with all fighting games, Tekken 6 - just like a certain something else - is fun to mess around with by yourself, but certainly more enjoyable if you can play with someone who knows what they’re doing.

The gameplay first seems simple with each button dedicated to each limb of a character, but there is a surprisingly deep-interface that allows several moves to be linked together, called "juggling", that allows you to hit the opponent multiple times while they are helpless, and it distingiushed between the casual player and the experts of these games. With a roster of 40 characters and tons of costumes to unlock by earning cash from winning fights, you can expect to play this game for a long long time, and each character has his or her own story in Story Mode.

However, it also has it's share of problems, in this case the lack of game modes. I would like it if they introduced something like "Tekken Bowl" in Tekken 5 where you go bowling with Tekken characters. They could have been more imaginative like add a sport here. Nevertheless, an awesome game that is a must-buy.
