  • Summary: The game is a single-player turn-based role-playing game featuring more than 100 unique characters to interact with, over 50 hours of gameplay and a deeply involving story line that unfolds in one of beautifully crafted 3D environments. Known by the name: Eiyuu Densetsu ("Legend of Heroes") Gagharv Trilogy: Akai Shizuku ("Crimson Tears") in Japan, the game is developed by legendary Nihon Falcom in Tokyo. The company is well known for their RPG work on many platforms and brands, including the "Ys", "Brandish" and "Sorcerian Series." While faithful to the "Legend of Heroes" series, players unfamiliar with the story will discover an easy-to-pick-up gameplay experience. [Bandai] Expand

  1. Had the translation and control problems been adjusted, Heroes could have been an exceptional experience. As it stands, this game will probably only fill the void for serious role-playing fanatics.
  2. If you are looking for a Final Fantasy style RPG then you will be disappointed... It more than satisfied my craving for a good game with a great story.
  3. Underneath the rote plot elements is a thoughtful tale packed with great characterization and surprising good humor. [Jan 2006, p.129]
  4. Legend isn't bad, its just predictable recycled material that fits into a nice storybook adventure.
  5. The real fact of the matter with this game is that it does achieve its main focus. Which is to waste time. The formula of whacking monsters to make my numbers go up and make my characters the uberist is there.
  6. A bit of a disappointment however, as it just doesn't provide any new or an original feel. Therefore the game feels a bit bland and doesn't have a new or fresh feel to it.
  7. A Tear of Vermillion does have a rich world to explore and an interesting cast. But with out an original story to tie the entire gametogether or great gameplay Legend of Heroes isn’t legendary at all. [JPN Import]

Simply the only RPG on the PSP... but I am having a blast with it. Nice graphics, interesting story, good characters, easy to use interface. Few spelling errors, but other than that it seems like a great game. Expand

The only true RPG for the PSP is not perfect. It does have crisp, clean graphics. It has an interesting, if slightly trite, storyline and it has a decent if not amazing battle system. But the controling is a bit clunky. There is no way to change your view to look around the 3d environment, which can sometimes become a problem and the translation is far from perfect. There are an exceedingly large number of typos and some sentences just end without finishing. Not a big problem for most types of games but a problem for a rpg. If you are used to playing translated japanese games then you won't be at too much of a dissadvantage but if you are a perfectionist in gaming this will be extreamly annoying. All in all it is a good game that could have used a bit more work on the dialog and controling. Expand

A lovely old school Role-playing game with a few quirks here and there. The Graphics are nice, big and bright, although they probably could have used some more actions. The sound is pretty good seeing as it is a psp game and portables have been known for thier brutal sound. Finally, the story is cliche, but enjoyable, I definatly recommend the game to those who love nostalgia and a sense of the good ol' days of RPG's. Expand

I cry myself to sleep knowing I payed full price for this game. Straight to the point, it could have been so much better but it isn't. I do like the battle system, but the story and how they drag everything out just sucks. Expand
