A brilliant introduction to the GRAW series, this is intelligent, exhilarating portable gaming at its best. While it lasts.
-
In the end, while not a perfect incarnation of the Ghost Recon series, GRAW2 still manages to be one of the strongest FPSs on the PSP and is well worth your time.
-
The scaled-down version of the Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter console games is a fun little shooter in its own right.
-
70It is far from perfect, but if gamers need some tactical action away from their living rooms, GRAW 2 definitely satisfies.
-
70It's more visually appealing than anyone could expect, while the varied missions and weapons kept me on my toes throughout the short but satisfying campaign.
-
65The Ghost Recon series makes a solid debut on the PlayStation Portable with this action-filled shooter, but competitive multiplayer is missing.
-
60The PSP's limitations - controls and AI - keep this from being a true knuckle-biting tactical shooter. In tense standoffs your opponents will always make it easier for you by sticking their heads out first. Although it's lacking deep planning or strategy, the game does work for a quick, fun and portable shooter that does its best to utilize the PSP's shooter potential.

No teammates, no cover system: GRAW 2 PSP couldn't feel further from its console brothers if it tried. Stick to SOCOM. [Sept 2007, p.103]
-
60The level of tension over the story is tuned way down thanks to your regeneration ability and the high level of stupidity that the AI demonstrates. Multiplayer, if you can call it that, is basic and unimpressive.
-
60Sadly, Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 for the PSP is an interesting attempt to take the series to the portable medium but, thanks to a number of weak spots, the game lacks most of the elements that make the franchise such a joy to play.
-
50Well, now, this is disappointing. I wasn't expecting a full-fledged GRAW experience on PSP, to be sure, but Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter 2 comes off feeling like a slightly more high-tech knockoff of SOCOM: Fireteam Bravo...only without teammates, online play, a reliable lock-on system, solid level design, or online play.
-
42Occasionally average, but it's mostly dull and problematic. [Issue#157, p.90]

JohnH.9An excellent port. Some draw distance issues and overuse of bloom effects, but a solid game for the PSP.
