  • Summary: Tony Hawk's Underground 2 Remix takes players on an all new skating blitzkrieg where they embark on the ultimate road trip from Tony Hawk's Underground 2 in addition to wreaking havoc in four never-before-seen city-levels - Las Vegas, Atlanta, Kyoto and Santa Cruz -- that feature original goals, level changing events and unlockable characters. For the first time, players can live the Tony Hawk console gaming experience on a handheld device as they join either Tony Hawk or Bam Margera on a World Destruction Tour where they nail insane tricks with lightning speed or slow motion focus control, pull off mischievous pranks, and conquer sick terrain through 13 single-player levels, or face off against up to three friends in 10 wireless multiplayer games. Players can import their picture onto the PSP via any memory stick and map their face to create their own personalized game character in an instant. [Activision] Expand

  1. I'm blown away by how well this title has been ported to PSP. [May 2005, p.136]
  2. Since so much of THUG 2 is dependant on a solid control system, there was some risk that this whole effort could completely backfire. The good news is that didn’t happen.
  3. What is surprising is that this game is essentially a perfect hand-held redux of the console version of Tony Hawk's Underground 2, as opposed to being some stripped-down, 2-D reinterpretation.

Remix doesn’t offer the new gameplay experience I was hoping for, and if felt like I was just going through the motions all over again, but now with my hands constantly cramping up on me.

A great accomplishment for the PSP, the graphics are really impressive here and its extremely cool to download a picture of yourself or anyone and mold it into 3d for the create a skater. That is what makes the game. The sensation of seeing yourself running around, skating and falling off things and really hurting yourself is extremely funny. the only problems are that its sometimes real real frusturating to pull off some tasks, and sometimes the camera can be a problem. other then that its a unique experience. Come on Sony we want NEW games please! No more ports of existing PS2 games. If you have played the console vesions then this will keep you amused with the novelty of playing it on a handheld for about 5 minuits then it will colect dust on your shelf for the next 5 years. It's good to play first time but is lazy at best. Collapse
