  • Summary: [Playstation Network] Unbound Saga is a 3D side-scrolling brawler set in a satirical comic book universe, where enemies are drawn onto the screen and madcap battles travel from panel to panel through a twisted, post-apocalyptic landscape – break off a weapon and RAGE OFF THE PAGE! 1. Fans of the genre should already be accustomed to the repetition that comes along with mercilessly (and sometimes pointlessly) pounding thugs into the ground, stage after stage. Unbound Saga is no different, but it certainly does it well.
  2. Boss fights are mundane affairs with no special mechanics, only larger health pools. [Oct 2009, p.82]
  3. Unbound Saga looks like a great game, but the looks ain’t everything! Once you enter in its the comics-inspired world you soon realize that the nicely painted environments are too crammed and claustrophobic. After a few missions you also realize that the only variables in the gameplay are the enemies and the very environments.

Old school beat'em up fans might be thrilled with the game's adherence to that genre's principles, but everyone else might be a bit let down by the sluggish controls and maddening hit boxes.
  5. Boring gameplay and half-baked mechanics combine to create a title that is shallow even for a $15 downloadable game.
  6. The very definitely of wasted potential, Unbound Saga is quite simply a beat-'em-up where it's not fun to beat them up.
  7. One brutally boring brawler.

No company should release a beat them up game that could be less then half a streets of fighter game. The game has great grafics but the worst gameplay ever. How hard can it be to make a good 2d beat them up, just take a look at Red Star for PS2 and learn. Collapse
