Another disappointment from xseed. I thought they would have read all the reviews on the first game and would have overhauled on the 2nd one.. its still the same.. has the same problems as the first one..well if you guys like exploring fighting exploring fighting and more exploring and fighting this games is for you.. and by the way you might not notice there's a story here and so they say.

I usually love this type of game, but this one is particularly awful in just about every way aside from the graphics. Stats are presented but not adequately explained, the combat is fun to watch but not satisfying at all to participate in, and the exploration suffers from lack of a decent checkpoint system and hours of dull backtracking. Strike two for this series.

Valhalla Knights 2 only promises to give fans a humongous disappointment. Most games dont live up to the hype, but Valhalla Knights 2 takes it up one more level: It completely falls short of the hype. All the problems and glitches that were in the original still persist, and the fact that the world is bigger only serves to make those problems loom even larger.

It's amazing how much better researched and thought out RPG Fan's positive review is in comparison to the neophyte negative reviews. The lucidity with which the gameplay, cutscene content and battle system limitations are explained puts the rest of the reviews on this page to shame. VK2 is a challenging game with a story written in by Final Fantasy XII's Miwa Shoda. The contempt for Xseed seems to amount to this: the game is sufficiently hard to wound most reviewers' masculinity. They can't play it, so they condemn the very elements that elevate the game: difficulty, excellent artwork and cutscenes, better than average storytelling. No one has bothered to write a walkthrough yet, which means ordinary users can't brag about finishing in 10 hours in gamefaqs forums. In the old days, every player had to slot through without help. This is a game fit for those days. One thing I'd change about the game is the battle system. You have to continually reset the player's angle during battles or s/he runs off attacking some corner of the battlefield while being assailed by an enemy. That isn't enjoyably difficult, it's an unnecessary glitch. It's also the reason I gave a good action RPG with a good story a mere six stars. Expand

With more than forty hours of gameplay, a "versus" mode for you to battle friends, and a difficulty that is stout, Valhalla Knights 2 is one of the best buys you're likely to find on the PSP for quite some time.
  2. So once again, this fledgling series fails to impress, and while I get the idea behind the game and the mechanics that it's going for, it just feels like a lot of the elements are unnecessary and a bit too archaic for my tastes.

With the same quest and exploration issues from the first title, as well as lots of micromanagement problems and missing information, Valhalla Knights 2 almost feels like a rehash of the original title with a brand-new coat of paint.
