  • Summary: Hack-N-Slash your way through enemy infested dungeons in this action/RPG hybrid. Gather items and raw materials to craft awesome alchemic weapons to defeat your enemies. Find rare and hidden treasures, learn powerful new techniques and spells and vanquish the evil that is plaguing your kingdom. With hundreds of different items and even more combinations, the ability to develop and “bless” your weapon and armor is almost unprecedented. Not only can you enhance your equipment, you can also purchase upgrades from the NPC’s, further expanding the amount of customization within the game. There are four different avatars that you can choose from, each with their own unique abilities and skill sets. Pick the one that is most suited to your playing style. You and a friend can explore and conquer the various dungeons that are available to you. By combining the skills available to each other, you can compliment one another and enjoy another level of gaming goodness. There is also a dungeon mode, which lets you re-explore dungeons for other content once you have cleared the game, adding more replay value to the title. With hardly any load times, you move from one floor to another within the dungeons to keep the action fast and furious. [UFO Interactive] Expand

Warriors of the Lost Empire is super-simple, fails at delivering a compelling story and is far from perfect, but if you're looking to hack-and-slash your way through hordes of enemies and upgrade some weapons as well as attributes, there are worse ways to spend your free time on the PSP.
  2. A lackadaisical approach to the hack-and-slash role playing genre. Nevertheless, there are enough bright moments to overlook the game's several detriments, which include mediocre visuals, a poor camera, a confusing synthesis system, and an uneven difficulty.

Warriors of the Lost Empire is a game you'll want to like, but only hardcore fans of the hack & slash genre will have a very easy time forgiving its flaws.
  4. Warriors of the lost empire is a classic hack-and-slash rol videogame with a gameplay very repetitive without innovations. The proposal is good at first glance but has many technical bugs. Only recommended for the followers of the dungeon and dragon´s style.
  5. An uninspired dungeon-crawler mired by boring, repetitive gameplay, and more design flaws than you can shake a gladius at.
  6. Probably the closest thing to compare it to would be the Dynasty Warriors series. Its games are not known for being the most in-depth, but they at least strike the good balance between hack-and-slash and RPG that Warriors lacks.

If you like to make a powerfull character and fight to do it then get this gem. The game takes time but that's the fun because you'll need the levelups and mods. Two thumbs up. Expand

its true that many things speak against the game (odd camera, boring backgrounds, no interesting back story whatsoever), but where it counts warriors of the lost empire is right oon the money - gameplay and fun. handling and special moves are great, and atmosphere is very nice. i recomment that if you interested in dungeon crawling or a pretty straight forward actiongame with litte rpg element that you give it a try. I have had an interesting experience with WotLE. I purchased the game when it was first released, only played it for a few hours, then put it down in favor of a more developed console game. A few weeks later, I traded it in, deciding that it didn't offer much in the way of innovation. Months passed, and when I got in the mood to play a good portable action game, I started to miss WotLE. I searched it out at my local GameStops, but the game had become somewhat of a rarity, thus increasing my desire to play it again. I finally found a mint copy on eBay for a decent price, and it now stands as one of my favorite action games on PSP. The point is this - Warriors of the Lost Empire may not offer a revolutionary experience, but it gets the basics right and presents them in such a clean, refreshing fashion that it satisfies all of your desires for hack-and-slash fun. If you enjoy dungeon runs, looting, building a character's skills and weapons, and other Diablo-esque conventions, WotLE hits all the right notes, even if it doesn't do much to advance the genre. There aren't many games like this on PSP (the original Untold Legends and Dungeon Siege ToA may be the only comparable titles), and WotLE deserves more attention than is evident on first impression.
