  1. Despite the lack of levels, there is a lot of replayability due to the need to play them multiple times, not only to level up and grow stronger, but also to find all of the pieces of Thor's armor.

Young Thor may be decidedly average, but considering the likely target audience, it should be money well spent if you need a cheap game to satisfy a young gamer for a day or two.
  3. 67
All that said, Young Thor -- when you're not repeating the same levels over and over -- is an enjoyable, pick-up-and-play romp-fest.
  4. For $5 there's enough fun to be had with Young Thor to justify the price, but if you need your games to be highly polished then you'd best look elsewhere. The combat is extremely uneven, and the controls can be imprecise at times.
  5. It's a straightforward, classic sidescroller that anyone can pick up and start playing immediately.
  6. 85
Above all, as a portable game Young Thor hits the mark. Levels are portioned out appropriately, with an easy-to-follow story and the option of more depth.
  7. Young Thor is a mini that is big on action and fun. It's an enjoyable and simple side-scrolling action title that's certainly worth its small cost of entry.
  8. Young Thor would have been a very good Mini if it wasn't for some bugs and annoying details. Nevertheless, one of the best Minis out there!
  9. 75
The simple, bold graphics, tailored for smaller screens, look fine on the living room telly and the soundtrack is not obtrusive or distracting.
  10. Even with the issues in regards to its level design and some noticeable glitches here and there, Young Thor is still a very enjoyable and worthwhile experience.
  11. As a retail game, Young Thor is merely adequate with its charm and ambition almost doing more than the gameplay can. As a Mini, however, it's the new benchmark for how these things should and can be done, and we can only hope it continues.
  12. As a full-price game, Young Thor isn't that great. But as a Playstation Mini, it's pretty impressive. The amount of content that was managed to put into this game, whether it's the variety of enemies, the level sizes, the treasures to collect, even the in-game achievements you can earn, is impressive.

It's a fun little hack-and-slash that's perfect for the PSP and its price.
  14. 80
Young Thor may be light on content, but what it does offer is polished and well-executed.
