Despite my initial hesitation, I found myself really digging Contra: Rogue Corps. My fears that it looked like a cheap, grody-looking, nothing game trying to cruise on a classic IP ended up being completely unfounded.
Konami returns with a new game of its most iconic saga that, although it respects the great doses of action that characterize the franchise, has a series of imperfections that stand in its design and, therefore, in the experience of the player. Despite this, Contra: Rogue Corps can be a worthy proposal if viewed from the right perspective and, above all, if enjoyed in the company of a friend.

This is a great game, the level of the level is at its peak, IGN is too garbage, think about the "Hand of God"

This game definitely will let you down if you used to be a fan of Contra series.
The
addition of a couch-play co-op mode with
its own story is nice, but the procedurally
generated maps lack the finesse of the
main story. Rogue Corps is an
odd release. It’s not Contra
enough for fans but just about
fun enough for the casual

If you expect a game that respects the beginnings of the saga, you won't find it here. Against ROGUE CORPs is a shooting video game that at the technical level is a disaster, it lacks a more polished and precise control, as well as a huge swing in terms of weapons. Nor does it stand out in terms of enemies and scenarios, both things are repeated too much, so much that sometimes one does not know if he has exceeded the level or if or is doing back. While it has certain interesting and fun moments, it is a title that is not worth it at all. If you want to experience the Contra saga at its best, you have a pack of Contra games that you can buy from the PS Store.
Contra: Rogue Corps is one of the worst games in the revered franchise and does a poor job of reviving the series for a modern audience by switching genres and failing to deliver.
Contra: Rogue Corps is a game that is so bad, I can’t recommend anyone buy it for any price.
Great game that combines all the best things from all other Contra, multiple characters with unique weapons like hard corps, run n gun action with multiple points of view like contra legacy of war and C the contra adventure and of course you have the aliens, mutants and other aberrations just like **** soldier except not that disgusting , Nakazano the original producer of the Contra Series really outdone himself, this is the real Contra EVOLUTION, please give it a try at least before judging im sure if you look beyond the nostalgia googles of the classic side scroller contra games you ll see an amazing game

Not good for a Contra game, not bad for an indie game.
There clearly wasn't a real budget put into this game but I am having some fun with it anyways.
Pros
-I like the upgrade system.
-The Story is somewhat interesting so far.
- A couple of the characters have pretty cool ideas behind them.
Cons
- The VFX look outdated.
- The controls are not the smoothest when it comes to aiming.
- Overkill with the cursing in the dialogue.
- AN OVERHEAT NERF ON THE GUN?? IN A CONTRA GAME?? REALLY??
- They called it Contra.
I think I speak for most people when I say I would have another sidescroller Contra. Topdown just doesn't feel right for Contra. NeoContra was a pretty fun game but not compared to the old sidescroller run n gun games.
The character models aren't bad but the art style just doesn't look right. I get that they were trying to make more challenging with the overheat function but I'd rather they just nerf the weapons power a bit, plus the twinstick aim doesn't feel very precise so that adds its own challenge already.
I still need to finish more of the game before i find anymore pros or cons.
Maybe there are some awesome boss fights to be had later on that can get my rating for this game up a bit.
I think the 0 scores are unfair but the 10's are unrealistic too. As of right now all i can give it is a 6.

Contra Rogue Corps is an understandably underrated game, it's not particularly good of course but if you set aside the legacy of the franchise not being respected then it is a decent twin stick isometric shooter. When it comes to the narrative and presentation of the game is pretty much nonexistent, the dialogue is abysmal, character models looks cringy as all hell, graphics are definitely not the best. When it comes to the combat and the action overall it's fun, it's challenging and overall rather fun.

being a contra player since NES, this was the perfect opportunity to modernize the game, but again, we are left with a shooter that does not fully meet expectations but it was fun to play

All I wanted was a Contra game. ISince when do guns overheat in Contra?
AFTER SHOOTING FOR 3 SEC OR 2 RPG SHOTS?!? this is one of those titles I can trace to my youth. Especially 1 & 3 (my fav) If they put all of this turd into a side scroller you could've **** a worthwhile game out. There was nothing enjoyable about this at all really..
