Sparkle 2 is an easy game to overlook during what I like to call the eShop Renaissance, but for such a reasonable price you're getting hours of genuinely fun and addictive puzzle gameplay, complimented with a stellar - albeit repetitive - soundtrack. I was truly caught off guard by its quality, and I have a feeling you will be too.

If you've played this game on any platform in the last few years then you'll largely know what to expect. On the plus side, it's still a Sparkle game, it's great at what it does, and Zuma is long gone. It is also good value for the amount of content provided, and as a bonus it’s slightly cheaper on the eShop than on the iOS app store.

Besides the optional touch controls that make this title accessible to all ages, Sparkle 2 doesn’t attempt to take this classic genre to new heights; instead it provides an experience that is mostly on par with past efforts - including the original Sparkle game. Fortunately, these development choices can only be commended as it is a well designed game with satisfactory production values; it'll likely have you glued to the screen until you’ve lost your marbles.

What else can be said about Sparkle 2? It's the concept of Puzz Loop/Zuma, on the Nintendo Switch, with a few unique elements thrown into the mix to make it be enough of its own thing to feel appealing to fans of the genre, and it plays best as a handheld title via the touch screen of the system. It will appease the hunger for this type of experience on the Switch without any doubt, but should not be expected to reconcile its detractors with the concept, however, as it remains pretty close to its source material. Price is perhaps just a bit on the steep side for newcomers, but for anyone who likes a good challenge of that type, with the amount of tough as nails challenges to tackle in here to complete absolutely everything, it's a fair price.

Even though i own Sparkle 2 on the PS4, i felt its best played in Hand Held mode and that's what the Nintendo Switch Excels at.

Gameplay-wise, fans will quickly feel right at home with Sparkle 2 on the Switch. Players will have to match three marbles of the same color by charging it with the marble shooter. Your goal is to make sure that you take out all the marbles before they reach the exit. Taking out marbles rewards runes, which players can take advantage of to move on to the next level. The Levels start out simple but the difficulty increases which makes each completed level feel rewarding.

The are also different types of weapons that you will be rewarded with such as weapons that changes the colors of the marbles that it hits. There are other weapons as well and this adds to the overall experience of the game

What i enjoyed most is that the levels always felt fresh with their own challenges. The vibrant colors pop-up, the music is simple yet nice to listen too and the cute story is interesting . Sparkle 2 is a fun game to pick up and play and now you can take it on the go with the Nintendo Switch which is a big plus. Sadly no major additions on the Nintendo Switch, it is basically the same game you played in other consoles.

Overall, Sparkle 2 is aesthetically pleasing to play and presents a nice challenge for players of all ages. If you like puzzle games and looking for something fast then Sparkle 2 on the Switch might be for you
