Just Dance 4 lacks innovation on Wii U, but it's still a good addition to its launch catalogue.

Just Dance 4 has something for everybody, and this is the definition of a party game.

Just Dance 4 still has the right moves, but soon might be a good time to learn a few new ones.

Just Dance 4 is the only title in its category available for Wii U, that makes it quite mandatory for every player looking for a dancing game, luckily this latest installment in the series offers a good variety of songs and a nicely crafted frame for them. The accuracy in translating players movements offered by the Wiimote is slightly below that of the Xbox 360 version, but the overall experience is fun even if the Wii U Gamepad isn't pushed in its capabilities.

It's amusing, but unfortunately the GamePad can cause noticeable lag issues on the TV screen when it's in use during a dance. [Dec 2012, p.82]

Despite the shortcomings of using a Wii remote versus something like the Kinect that tracks the whole body, this is still a totally fun game to play, especially with friends.

Just Dance 4 is a hard game not to like. It's completely unpretentious and simply exists to make you have fun, hopefully starting a party in the process. The soundtrack is strong and the choreography is as good as ever. Unfortunately, without full body tracking, the game is simply not as enjoyable as it is on the Kinect. Knowing that it's only tracking the motion of the Wii Remote, and a single arm by association, lowers the motivation to perfectly nail the moves. Those used to playing the game on the Wii or who don't care about accuracy will be content, but anyone who owns a Kinect would be better off picking up the Xbox 360 version - especially considering it costs $10 less.

It's as good (or bad) as it always was. The motion recognition is not just faulty but can also be cheated. Nonetheless the song selection is good and with a few friends there is a lot of fun to be found. The Wii U gamepad is totally underutilized though.

Just Dance 4 does what a party game has to do: it entertains. The Wii U exclusive features might not be enough to put it above the Wii Version, but nonetheless dance fanatics will get a well done game.

This is a game for a very specific set of people, and I am not included that set. Nonetheless, I had a good time with the game once more people got involved. If you have a group of friends that like to bust a groove, Just Dance 4 may be the party game for you. If you're more interested in leveling up a black mage than a dancer, then avoidance is your smoothest move.
  11. As it is, it's just an average port of a game that's just about hanging onto the legacy of some great game design from a few years ago. A little bit more love next time, please.

With Just Dance 4 on Wii U Ubisoft is still applying the "more of the same" rule. The game is pretty much the same played on PS3, 360 and Wii, with just three bonus tracks and small differences here and there.

Just Dance 4 is a generator of awkward moments, an engine powering missteps and bodily mayhem. Whether this is frustrating or fun will often come down to the blood alcohol level of the participants.

It ultimately relies too much on the honor system, and many players will be less inclined to give their best effort when the game gives you a pass just for moving around. In the end, the game doesn't do much more than simply give you an excuse to dance--it really is just as simple as its title.
